Thank you for joining the Rogers Community Forums and posting your concern. What was the previous modem were you using? The 22.214.171.124 firmware version is the latest for CGN3 model so it'll not change until a new version is available.
Have you tried adding a static IP/DHCP Reservation yet?
Anybody else in the Community running 126.96.36.199 firmware and not able to connect a wired printer?
Can't remember. It was a Motorola modem probably more than five years old.
I haven't tried static IP/DHCP Reservation yet.
But it may be academic. I've also found the signal strength of this modem/router is much less than my old router. I may use that old router for all router functions.
As I understand it, to rid the CGN3 of its router functionality, I need to disable UPNP and the residential gatewayfunction, in the Gateway Function in the Basic Menu.
Probably I should disable the wireless function in the Basic Menu.
Is there anything else?
A couple of months have passed since this thread was started and I still don't see any information on what 188.8.131.52 is supposed to accomplish. My CGN3 is still on 184.108.40.206.
Thank you for posting your query in the Community. The main change of this firmware is the new Easy Connect wizard (same as the CGN3ACR/SMR) which replaces the Cisco Connect software. If your modem is still at 220.127.116.11 version, please send us a private message at @CommunityHelps.
