Buffering on Netflix

My internet service fluctuates so much that my netflix shuts of very frequently. I have to connect numerous times through my television to get netflix back, I know the internet is fast at times and slow at times because I have a 4K television and you can actually see clean, clear picture and then it all goes fuzzy and unclear as the internet dwindles. What do I do?

Re: Buffering on Netflix

Do you have a CGN3ACSMR modem?  If yes, please read the first post in this thread:

 http://communityforums.rogers.com/t5/forums/forumtopicpage/board-id/Getting_connected/message-id/253...

Then, to request the firmware update, follow this link @CommunityHelps to get to the CommunityHelps page when you are signed into the forum.  On the right hand side of the page is a link titled "Send this user a private message".  Use that link to get to the next message composition page, fill in the title, your modem MAC address and Cable Account Reference Number in the text area and hit send.  If the staff are not too busy, you might see the firmware pushed out either late this evening or overnight during the scheduled maintenance periods.  If not, it should be pushed out no later than tomorrow night.

If you are a new customer, you will not have immediate access to the Cable Account Reference Number.  The simple solution is to call Customer Service for that number.  You can then send that with the modem MAC address to CommunityHelps.

If you don't have that modem, you have for example the CGN3 or CGN3ACR, I would swap those modems for the CGN3ACSMR and then immediately request the update when you have the CGN3ACSMR at home and have it hooked up and running.

Can you also log into the modem, navigate to STATUS.... DOCSIS WAN, copy the downstream and upstream tables and paste them into this thread.  Those are the cable signal levels and signal to noise ratios which might be worth looking at.

Are  you conneting via wired or wifi, where you are seeing the problems?  Do you see the problems on both wired and wifi?

I don't think It would be a Mississauga issue (I live there, central mississauga) and I haven't heard anything or saw any internet issues - I use a CGN3.

But @Datalink is pretty much giving you a great start with in-depth troubleshooting already... I woud definitely look into the update.

Re: Buffering on Netflix

I am going to change my modem to the CGN3ACSMR and then follow your directions. Everyday I get up the internet is down and I am paying premium money for this...so sad...but I am looking for a solution. Will get this done immediately.
