    Simply follow the instructions below to program your Rogers Remote or to turn it into a Universal Remote.   Program your Rogers Remote Turn on the TV or DEVICE you wish to program and follow the steps below. Be sure to point the remote at your equipment during setup. Press and hold SETUP until the mode key blinks twice. Press the mode key for the device you wish to set up. Aim the remote at your equipment and press and hold down the OK key. Release the key when the device turns off and setup is complete. Manual Code Entry: If you’d rather take matters into your own hands:   On your computer: Go to the   urcsupport.com Enter Rogers in the “Enter your provider” search window Select the type of remote you have from the list of available remotes Select “Code Finder” Select the brand and model of the component you want to control. Write down the code that is returned. Then, in your home theatre setup: Turn on your equipment and follow the steps below to set up your remote. Be sure to point the remote at your equipment during setup.   Press the mode key for the device type you wish to setup. Press and hold SETUP until the mode key blinks twice. Using the digit keys on the remote, enter the code shown in the code finder above. Test the remote to confirm that it controls your device as expected. If it does not, try again using the next code listed.   Volume Lock Settings Press and hold SETUP until the mode key blinks twice. Press the VOLUME UP key. Press the mode key for the device you wish to use for volume control. The key will blink twice to confirm.   POWER/INPUT/MODE KEYS VIDEO INPUT cycles through video inputs on the TV or Audio Device WATCH CABLE turns equipment used for watching cable TV on and off  SETUP used for remote control programming MODE KEYS used to set remote to control selected device NAVIGATION KEYS A-D KEYS   used for special functions displayed on your cable menus GUIDE   displays program guide ON DEMAND   used to access on demand program library MENU   displays main cable menu DAY -/+   used to jump a day ahead or back in program guide INFO   displays information on current selected program PAGE +/-   used to jump a page at a time in program guide EXIT   closes current menu PLAYBACK CONTROLS LIST   displays a list of recorded programs on DVR boxes.   This green button is small but mighty. It displays your list of PVR recordings and the upcoming shows you have slated to record. If you’re anxious to watch the latest episode of The Big Bang Theory you missed but recorded, simply hit List to peruse your recordings to find it. RECORD   press to record selected program FF/PAUSE/PLAY/REW/SKIP BACK/STOP/SKIP FWD   used to control playback of live, recorded, or On Demand programs Instant Replay (button with arrow facing counter-clockwise)   When you’re watching a PVRed movie or show and want to see something again, use this button to instantly replay the last eight seconds of whatever you’re watching. Instant Replay comes in handy for re-living hilarious movie scenes and watching unbelievable sports maneuvers. OTHER KEYS LAST   returns to the previously selected channel FAV   cycles through favorite channels set on your cable box PIP ON/OFF   turns on picture-in-picture on some cable boxes   this row of buttons is a priceless gift for all your multitasking – or, multi-viewing, rather – needs. So, when you’re glued to your home team’s hockey game, but don’t want to miss out on the wild-card chase, you can keep score of both at the same time. Press PIP On/Off to turn the Picture-in-Picture feature on your PVR off or on. PIP Swap switches sounds and images between the smaller PIP window and the main (larger) window on your TV screen. SWAP   used to swap between tuners on DVR boxes or to swap pictures on PIP boxes LIVE   returns to live TV HD/Zoom   If you have an HD digital box, use this button to quickly and easily change the aspect ratio of whatever you’re watching. If you prefer widescreen, for instance, click the button and toggle to the ratio setting that suits you best. FAV   Navigate to your favourite channels with the click of a button by pressing FAV. No need to memorize channel numbers or spend precious TV time perusing the guide to find HGTV or HBO or your local CTV affiliate.  To set your favourites, press the Settings button until the General Settings menu appears. From there, scroll through until you find the feature you want (in this case, Favourites) and press OK/Select. Then, just follow the prompts. It will blink once. Press and hold   SETUP   until the TV button blinks twice, then release it. Press   9 9 1   (the TV button will blink twice). With the remote pointed at the TV, press   Power. Repeatedly press and release   Channel +   until your TV turns off. Now the remote will cycle through all possible codes until a match is found. You may need to press   Channel +   several times to find a match. Once the TV turns off, press   SETUP   once to lock the code. Then press   POWER   to turn on your TV and to confirm the code was correct and is locked.     Program your Rogers Remote as a Universal Remote   Auto-scanning Mode: Turn on the component you want to control with your Rogers remote. On your Rogers remote, press the button that corresponds with the component you’d like to control with your Rogers remote (TV, DVD, AUX etc.). On your Rogers remote, press and hold the   SETUP   button until the component button you chose flashes twice. On the number pad press   9-9-1. The component button will again flash twice. Press the   PWR   button then, slowly and repeatedly, press the   CH+   button until the component you want to control turns off. When the component turns off, press the   SETUP   button.   Important Information About Your Remote Your remote is initially programmed to operate only your DTA50. Therefore, you must program the remote to operate your TV.                                                                        Batteries   The remote requires two AA batteries. A diagram inside the battery compartment of the remote indicates proper placement of the batteries. *Note: Batteries must be replaced within two minutes of removal to retain programmed TV Codes.     Lookup Your TV Code Confirm your TV's Brand and Model number and input them   here.   Program the Remote to Control My TV   1. Turn on the TV.   NOTE:   Please read steps 2 to 4 completely before proceeding. Highlight or write down the codes and device you wish to program before moving on to step 2.   2. Press and hold SET until the RED Light blinks twice, then release SET..   3. Locate the code for your device in Manufacturer's Codes on the back of the user guide or in the lookup below. Brands are listed in alphabetical order with the most popular codes listed first.   4. Enter the first five-digit code for your TV. If you perform this procedure correctly, the Red Light will blink twice.   NOTE:   If you enter an invalid code, the red light will display one long blink and exit the programming mode. Repeat steps 2 to 5 with valid code.   5. Aim the remote control at your TV and press Power once. The device should turn off. If it does not respond, repeat steps 2 to 4, trying each code listed for your brand until you find one that works. If it still does not work, try Searching For Your Code.     Notes:   Do not press the SET key for more than 30 seconds.   On a few cable-ready TVs, the Power key is the only key that can be programmed successfully.
