Samsung Frame TV and Ignite TV Remote Pairing Issues

dinapd
I've Been Here Awhile

Hi there
Few issues Integrating the two;

- each time I turn on TV with ignite remote, Frame TV asks me if I want to pair my Comcast remote to the TV, even though they are already paired

- when I undertake this process again anyways, I can input the 3 digits asked, but can’t progress to the next screen

In sum, I am asked repeatedly to pair the remote to the TV even though it’s already done. And when I try to do it anyways as noted above, I can’t get passed the pairing input screen

Thanks in advance!

Hello, @dinapd.

Welcome to Rogers Community Forums! 🙂

Thank you for posting your concern in the Community; are you also using your One Remote Control along with Ignite TV Remote Control?

We have another thread where we discussed the pairing of Samsung's One Remote Control to control both the TV and Ignite box. It seems the TV may be looking for both IR and RF pairing. Do you have the option to turn off IR pairing on your TV?

Please check out the other post by @Simon14

@57 & @-G-, any input on this issue?

Cheers,

RogersMoin

Thanks but I’m not able to chose between IR and RF.

Again, every time I turn on the TV, it asks me to setup the RF remote even though it’s already setup. Please someone help!! 🙂

Re: Samsung Frame TV and Ignite TV Remote Pairing Issues

Hello, @dinapd

Thanks so much for confirming that for us!

Can you please unpair the Ignite TV Voice Remote? You can do this by following the steps outlined on our Troubleshooting the Ignite TV Voice Remote support page for your specific remote.

Once unpaired you will need to pair the remote with the Ignite TV box and your TV. Follow the steps outlined on our Program and Pair support page for the steps to do this for your specific remote.

Please follow the steps to program your TV first and then the Ignite TV box and let us know if there is any improvement.

We look forward to your response!

@dinapd  Which remote are you using to turn your TV on and off, the Rogers remote or the Samsung remote that came with your TV?

The Ignite set-top box will prompt you to pair a remote when it receives an IR code for a function that requires an RF-connection.  For example, if you follow the directions to unpair the Rogers remote (by entering setup code 981) and then point the unpaired remote directly at the set-top box and press the Microphone button, the set-top box will immediately prompt you to pair the remote.

Presumably, the same could happen when it receives certain IR codes from the Samsung remote.

I Plan to Stick Around

I replaced my Samsung Smart 4K TV a couple of weeks back with Samsung Frame TV along with a Samsung HW-A550 Sound bar.

Connected my Xi6-T Ignite TV Box to the Samsung One Connect Box through HDMI 1 port.

Connected the Sound bar from it's HDMI eARC to One Connect Box's eARC HDMI port

Upon trying to setup XR-15 remote to work the following is the result:

Ignite XR-15 remote will turn the TV on but it cannot turn it off. When the TV turns on, the sound bar turns on.

Volume control button on the Ignite remote does not work

Ignite Remote cannot turn the TV off.
Ignite Remote will change channels, respond to voice commands.

Having gone through discussion forums, XR-15's manual and YouTube videos I have not been able to find a solution. Also went through Rogers Tech Support person with no luck.

Is Samsung Frame compatible with Ignite XR-15 remote or should we wait for a firmware update?
