Ignite TV access to previously aired programs

I've Been Here Awhile

As I work odd hours I do not see TV shows when they air at their normal time so I watch them later.  Recently I have discovered that in watching a 30 minute show the same commercial shows 5 times in blocks of 3.  Therefore I am seeing this commercial 15 times every 30 minutes.  This is definitely not making me want to subscribe to Crave TV.

Which show did you see this on and how are you watching it?  (On-Demand?  PVR recording?  Watch Now?)  Unless you are watching a a show from a few days ago, On-demand, you are probably watching the program as it was last broadcast.

FYI, with Ignite TV, you can enable 30-second skip and in many cases can skip commercials even while watching On-demand content.

I have the following comments:

1. Crave TV is a premium product and they do not have commercials.  All movies, etc. are aired commercial-free. There are often "previews" and such between programming, but not during programming and you can quickly skip or FF through any commercials that may get recorded before or after a programme.  Crave OD programming doesn't have any commercials.

2. As mentioned above, with IgniteTV there is no need to watch commercials on your recorded programming.  You can either Fast Forward through commercials, or use the 30 second skip functionality, provided you set your programming to record, rather than watching OD, where some programming may preclude the skip or FF functionality.

To me, it sounded like @rhsweetlove  was complaining about a barrage of commercials advertising Crave TV.

With Ignite TV, if a show aired within the last 24 hours, a 30-minute show will usually still show a 30-minute runtime On-demand, and you can typically watch those shows as if you had PVRed them, and what you see would be what was last broadcast on-air.  However, if a 30-minute show (as broadcast) has a 23-minute runtime On-demand, then (obviously) those have had commercials removed and specific commercials substituted, commercials that you may or may not be able to skip, and a program that you also may or may not be able to fast-forward through depending on the rights.

If the program is On Demand, you may not be able to skip commercials, I get this all the time for regular shows.

As above, not all on-demand can skip commercials.  Anything that was on a Corus-owned channel you cannot skip commercials.
