I have a CGM4140COM modem through the Rogers ignite plan. Does anyone know how I can change the default DNS? I have logged into the gateway panel, I can see the current dns servers but there isn't any way to edit them.
I've looked into this & found there is NO way to change the DNS servers on the router. Maybe Rogers could throw us advanced users a bone and enable a way to change ipV4 & ipV6 DNS servers in a future firmware update
If you absolutely require a different DNS server to be used, then set the TCP config on your computer. Then you can have a different DNS server.
Or set the VB6 in bridge mode and use your own router.
Ok thanks for the replies guys. I had my previous plan in Bridge Mode (recently upgraded to ignite) with Google WiFi, no issues. The tech said that it might 'break' the ignite tv (honestly I think he might of just been trying to pitch eero). Have any of you guys done this with the ignite tv? I can just factory reset to disable bridge mode, right?
Yes I have it in bridge mode with my netgear Router. 3 xi6 boxes wired and all works great even netflix
No special settings. I have left the DNS as rogers.
I don't even see IPv6 anywhere in my router settings.
Hang on I found it. No IPv6 is disabled on my router.
