No none of that answers my question.
I want to erase and factory reset the small HDMI ignite tv box. Erase it just like it came out of the plastic. No wireless settings. No synced remote. Completely factory reset.
I’m not talking about the XB6 modem/router.
I’m not referring to cloud recordings.
Specifically mean the Xi6-A ignite tv box.
How do I go about this?
I changed the SSID of my wifi and the box is still trying to connect to the old ssid. I need to get it to boot to the select wifi screen like when it was new.
Hello again @pynky,
Thanks so much for clarifying exactly what you needed to accomplish. We can definitely help provide you with the steps on how to manually enter the SSID information for the Xi6 set-top box. Please follow the steps below which was first outlined in a post by @Gdkitty located HERE.
Press and hold Exit for 5 seconds, then press the down arrow twice (down, down), then enter 9-4-3-4.
It will Take you to a WPS / manual setup screen where you can manually select the SSID and then enter the password. Keep in mind, as soon as you enter this command it will wipe the current WiFi settings on the box. Once you start the process on any box you have to complete the WPS or manual setup for the box to work again.
Please update the Community if these steps work out well for you! 😃
Factory RESET Ignite box. I don't want to restart, I need to factory reset.
I just got my Ignite hardware from Rogers and I made the mistake of setting the Ignite box to 4k60 and it's been a NIGHTMARE. I get random moments where the set top box display on my LG65C9. I cannot for the life of me get the box to reset so I change the resolution back to 4k30 as it appears this box will not play nice with my setup.
I cannot follow any on-screen prompts. I need to factory RESET the box.
I have found lots of posts on how to restart it, but that won't do the trick.
@ii4 I don't know of any way that you can reset the Xi6 back to factory defaults but there is another way that you can change the set-top box's output resolution: Press and hold the Menu (Rogers) button on the remote for 3 seconds, then key in: "⬆️ ⬆️ 2 ". You may or may not see an "Enter Control Code" box pop up prompting you to enter a 4-digit code. Key in "1 0 8 0"
If all goes well, you should be able to see what's on the screen and interact with the menus again.
Rogers button, the last icon is the settings, in settings go to device settings, then press video display, press on video output resolution and pick your option.
