How Do I Control My Iphone From My Desktop

I would like to control my iphone from my desktop. This would allow me to stop having to physically put my cell phones in my hands to check for text messages/alerts. I would like to text from my computer as I could type more quickly this way.

Any help would be much appreciated

I have tried APowerMirror on Android, not sure if there is an iOS equivalent or not though.  Lets you mirror the screen and simulates touches on the virtual screen with mouse clicks.  I didn't use it very long though so I don't really know how good it is but seemed to work ok.
