Are you ready? It's that time of year again. The Rogers Cup Toronto takes place from August 4 to 12 at the Aviva Centre. Karl Hale, the tournament director, confirmed that World No.1 and three-time Rogers Cup champion Rafael Nadal will play his first match in Toronto on Wednesday night (August 8). Canadian No.1 Denis Shapovalov scheduled to play in the Tuesday night session (August 7).  Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic will also be fighting for the cup, as part of 19 of the Top 20 players in the world.


Former World No.1 and three-time Rogers Cup champion Andy Murray, who is working his way back from a hip injury, has received a wild card into the tournament.


The official draw ceremony for the 56-player field will take place in downtown Toronto on the afternoon of August 3.


In a historic first, the Toronto subway (TTC) will now bring tennis fans directly from downtown Toronto to the Rogers Cup, making it easier than ever for fans to reach the Aviva Centre.


For the 39th edition of the Montreal event, the 25 best WTA players will battle it out for the title from August 3 to 12 on the courts at IGA Stadium. The legendary Serena Williams is the recipient of a wild card for the 2018 edition of Rogers Cup. This will be her first time playing in Montreal since 2014 when she made the semi-finals.


Tennis Canada announced that Canadian Eugenie Bouchard has received a wild card for the 2018 Rogers Cup. The Quebec native is scheduled to play her first match during the day session on Monday, August 6. She will find out the identity of her opponent during the official draw, which will take place on Friday, August 3.

Two more wild cards will be awarded to Canadian players. They will be announced during the week of July 30.
