if you register for the insider program on mobile, it has nothing to do with the insider program on PC, it stays on your phone, The builds are starting to come along pretty good now, A new build will be released this week that should be almost finished product, maybe a couple lingering minor bugs. It is running very smooth and fast on my Icon right now.
Windows 10 Mobile should be finalized in the next couple of weeks and the 950/950XL will be available sometime in November via MS stores in Canada, the phones sold at the store will work pretty much anywhere except cdma like verizon and such, they are dual sim phones and support all bands on canadian gsm carriers.

Just to comment on your previous comment.
I am a windows Phone specialist, well as a SME I make it a point to know every phone OS we support. I do know alot about windows Phone 8.1 and Windows Phone 10. Speaking to one person who may not be as familiar happens, but don't take it to heart. I am here to help
I use a Windows Phone 640XL Dual Sim using Windows Phone 8.1 and i also have another running Windows Phone 10 but i prefer the 8.1
Remember Windows phone has only like 2% of the market share and I agree with you we need to offer alot more support. Since Microsoft started making the phones themselves, (which sadly has ended due to Microsoft Writing down the 7B dollars they bought it from Nokia for) Microsoft still offers alot of good phones, IMHO the 640XL was the first of many and if alot of developers get on board then the newest ones should get alot more support.
Don't give up, everyone i speak to I mention these great phones, and their awesome power.
My battery on my 640XL being used all day long for sms and internet and calling lasts a whopping 6 days before i get the low battery warning. So i am definetly a fan.
I know you expect alot of support from us, If you get me on the phone you will not be disappointed, I love the Microsoft Phones, and do my best to support them, ask alot of the MODS here I have worked with most of them, they know my passion is knowing the phones 🙂
Best of luck with your MS phone and I know you will enjoy it
Yes i always recommend buying them outright from Microsoft if Rogers doesn't offer it.
I got my 640XL outright for 400 shipping included. Fantastic phone and 5.7" screen I was blown away!
🙂

Thanks EhmTeeEhf ! I appreciate your support for the WP community and your endorsement of the 640XL. Now that Rogers and Microsoft have forced me to buy an unlocked Windows phone, I'm saddened that I'll never get a 950XL. However, if the 640XL is a decent phone but still affordable, maybe I won't feel like such a second class citizen.
That being said, I will never go back to Rogers. I've moved over to Koodo last week because of this thread; I don't think I'll ever look back.

I am glad that Rogers is having a couple of Windows Phone Experts.
Yes Windows Phone only has a market share 2.6%, Iphone is only 13.9% everything else is Android. (BB is less than 1%)
If the phone companies would offer a Windows Phone, and advertise it thje same way it is done for Samsung and Iphone, people would get it.
Marketshare for WP will not grow if it is only for sale at the Microsoft Store.
I want to get the phone really bad, but I don't think I can afford it.

@EhmTeeEhf Thanks for the information, I have been seriously considering a Windows phone as my next phone, as I love Windows 10, and have played with the surface tablet and the phone on 8.1, 10 on my laptop before it bricked my obsolete hardware - beware of an upgrade if it doesn't have uefi (I think that is correct) bios; - 2-3 year old computers (not a cheap last years model), will generally have this. If you have old hardware, look up on google on how to turn off fastboot options and when you do that make sure you restart, don't just turn off, because it goes back to the saved hibernation file.
Glad to hear someone talking about the microsoft phones and devices on 10 and 8.1

Windows 10 TH2 release is coming along nicely and should be released to normal users in the 1st week of November, The next major update would be the Redstone builds which should be coming around springtime 2016.
Also for Windows 10 Mobile the TH2 release is also coming along very nicely and the latest build is just fantastic with only some minor bugs, its almost RTM time for Windows 10 Mobile which i also expect to be finalised around the first or second week of November ready to be loaded onto the new 950 and 950XL, cant wait till i get my 950XL, very nice phone and with great specs. if you dont like the look of the back, custom backs from Mozo will also be available in leather and plastic.

windows said they will be in charge of updated for now on not the carriers

Yes i believe Microsoft will be pushing updates directly to windows 10 mobile devices in the future with no carrier interference. Which is very welcome because we all know how carriers mess up updates when it comes to phones.
