CIBC NFC payments with the Z30

Any idea if this will work on the Z30? I've been using NFC payments on the Z10 with the CIBC app and it has worked pretty well. Since it's pretty much the same software, any reason why it wouldn't work on the Z30 even though it isn't listed as a supported device?

Hello svelt

It all depends on CIBC and Rogers. When they are ready to roll out more devices, they most likely add the Z30. I do agree seeing as its the same OS, they should have added it.

The ball is in CIBC's court on this one.
According to Vanessa at CIBC support, the Z30 hasn't been tested for security and reliability to the extent CIBC wants to test it. As we know, the Z10 was released months before the Z30 and therefore more testing has been done on it. CIBC is working on compatibility for the app on the Z30.

Cheers. 🙂

Re: CIBC NFC payments with the Z30

Thanks for the update and the information. I really hope this is a matter of "when" and not "if" or "never". Did they say they were looking into it for the Z30 but not the Q5 (that one has been out for a while and I'm guessing it's never going to be supported)?

Hello Svelt

They will be Adding it But the Question is When. They Won't Say anything about it until it's been tested and made sure it works. Same goes for the Q5 as well.
