Rogers VOLTE

I'm here a lot
Rogers launched VOLTE BUT THERE NOT much support from Rogers about its development. Most of ANT and T mobile customers now using VOLTE BY JUST A SOFTWARE Updates not phone upgrade. They even support phone like Samsung Galaxy s3
But now I have Samsung note Edge and it's not VOLTE compatible so my question is Rogers going to to something about it ?

Good afternoon @bick

Our current line of VoLTE capable devices includes the iPhone 6s, 6s+, Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 EDGE, S6 EDGE+, Note 5, LG G4 and LG G3 Vigor.

While there are other devices out there that may be capable of supporting VoLTE; support would be subject to the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) releasing the OS update to allow the VoLTE support.

At this time the OEMs listed above are only supporting VoLTE the specific devices.

Stay tuned to any OS Updates here: http://bit.ly/RogersOS

Feel free to continue VoLTE device specific support in the Android Board aswell.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response but my point is routing the over LTE from 3G or 4G is a matter of software not an hardware like most of these wireless providers in US did such as A&T and T mobile they did it through software to all of thire LTE Campatible phones. (phones as old as 3 years )

Correct @bick, VoLTE capability on any given network is a function of the devices' OS/Firmware in conjunction with the carrier updates.

At this time the OEMs who have worked with Rogers to supply their devices with the necessary software for VoLTE are:

Apple with the iPhone 6s, 6s+

Samsung with the Galaxy S6, S6 EDGE, S6 EDGE+ and Note 5

LG with the G4 and G3 Vigor.

My question was will Rogers request Samsung to enable VOLTE on devices like Samsung note Edge or note 4
As they did enable for other services providers

We cannot comment on any unannouced devices or OS upgrades.

Stay tuned to any OS Updates here: http://bit.ly/RogersOS

And again, always feel free to continue VoLTE device specific support in the Android Board aswell.

Hello @bick

If u read the sentence it says "Unannounced software " as well. . It's up to Samsung and Rogers both to enable it. If the agreement with Samsung is not to enable it until it works fine then they can't do or say much.As @RogersDarrell said just wait for a announcement later on and keep a dye on that specific thread he posted!
