I Plan to Stick Around

Is anyone else having problems with the unread mail count being wrong.

Mine will show 85 new messages when I only may have 1 or 2.

Re: rogers yahoo mail

One thing i have noticed.. is that if you are using a 3rd party client.. using PoP, that it will download all the spam, etc as well.

if you use imap though, it doesnt appear to.

On the webmail.. it should ONLY show the # of messages in that box only.. the inbox, etc..  SHOULDNT be counting spam, etc. but its possible.

Remember to check back pages as well, as it only show so many per one page, could be a bunch futher back unread somewhere.

I think Rogers filters out a lot of porn and other mass marketing emails that nobody wants to get. That's probably what is going on with the count. Your EMail client probably counts total msgs received in your inbox on the Rogers server.

Yea I know, this post is total "Hogwash"

Re: rogers yahoo mail

What Hogwash said makes sense. I never get spam email on Yahoo or via RON, but I do get it all via Outlook. I actually wish Rogers/Yahoo would stop making educated guesses about what is or is not spam. Normally, you'll see the message subject line with the word [Bulk] inserted in front, which means it's flagged as spam.

This is weird and just annoying. When I open Rogers Yahoo and look at the email icon in the upper right-hand corner it says I have 25 unopened emails. Right now. Yesterday it was 24. I've read all my emails over the last three days so there should only be a few from the start of each day. So I'm guessing this is a glitch with Yahoo.

Don't know if any one else is seeing the same thing. Not a big deal. Just curious.

I've Been Here Awhile

I use Mac Mail exclusively.  As a Rogers customer I don't want Yahoo interfering with my mail and only go to their mail because of the red square that says I have, say, 33 messages in the trash.  I don't want my mail hanging out there in Yahoo's territory.  In the past few months I have found Yahoo is insisting on sorting mail, not allowing what it considers spam to reach Mac Mail.  This has resulted in three missed E-mails from other countries that were not spam ending up in Yahoo's spam folder.  I want to be the one who deals with my spam - but repeated calls to Yahoo have not been able to solve this unwanted interference.
