how do i set up a password to my internet?

ok so i got rogers to set up a internet modem/router (same unit) it is an N gateway wirless home networking system. I cannot figure out how to put a password on the system and was wondering how. Also i am wondering how to get the best internet, i saw in a different thread to go to a different frequency or something? Can anyone tell me how to do that? thanks

If all else fails, you can give tech support a call.  When I got my SMC modem there was no documentation whatsoever, so I gave them a call before even plugging in the modem so I could set wireless security ASAP (I then called them back a few minutes later to set it to I could use my own router instead.)  It was a 5 minute call in both case and everything went smoothly.

Hi all i have a rogers ericsson hub and i have a password to secure it my main computer finds it and works fine as im on it now but i have a hp mini laptop brand new it see's the rogers wifi but when i go to connect and but in the password it says NETWORK SECURITY KEY MISMATCH ?

i have a modam/gateway and a laptop that i cant get connected to the internet i kepps asking for a password or a security key stuf@rogers.com

my main computer is ethernet and i am trying to hook up my lap top wifi

On your main connection (wired), you will want to log into the modem.

Open a web browser.. go to http://192.168.0.1

If it hasnt been changed.. you will want to log into it with

cusadmin

password

Once inside there go to the wireless tab, and in there you can set the password for the wifi.

You will also want to go to the admin tab, and change the password to the login for the router from 'password'
