does texting to twitter count as texting to america?

i basically got a new phone today, samsung galaxy s3 and set up texting with twitter and then i realized after sending some texts to twitter and a few friends in america that it probably costs extra (i checked and i was right its 25 cents per text)

so anyway it says that "standard messaging rates apply" or whatever, but does it count as long distance?

Texting to twitter? Or are you using the twitter app?

The twitter app will not use any text message usage/LD, but will use data

From what I can see, the text to twitter, if you are texting 21212, it looks like tht one SHOULDN'T be charged from canada

i was wondering about the texting to 21212 as in like sms updating and that doesnt get charged as long distance texting?

I had dug through the twitter support stuff. Apparently texting to that in Canada SHOULD not be charged.
