I've been having a hard time getting any proper answers through live chat or calling customer service...
What are the early cancellation fees for cancelling our wireless contract? We signed this particular contract about 2yrs ago and have been with rogers for about 8yrs...I can't get a straight answer!!! I don't have our "term conditions" anymore and I can't seem to access it online... If anyone can help that would be appreciated

If you want to direct a question more directly at a rogers rep for a response.. you would be better to contact them via the other media venues of Facebook / Twitter, they seem to reply there.
As Meowmix said.. they dont always answer alot here.. as this is primarily a user to user help forum, not designed as a direct contact point for rogers.

I think the old cancellation policy was this:
Voice: $20/month, to a max of $400
Data: $5/month to a max of $100
So the most it could cost you is $500.
If you signed a 3 year contract, and have 1 year left... $20 x 12 = $240
$5 x 12 = $50
to cancel your contract, you would have to pay $290
Although, if Rogers can't provice a copy of your Terms of Agreement, including the Cancellation Policy, then how can they charge you for it? I'd ask them to provide proof that $X is what you owe, based on the agreement. Especially since the 'new' cancellation policy is $12.50/line (plus whatever for the subsidized phone...)

I want to cancel my cable yet keep my rogers home phone. I am told early cancellation fees are $160 and they state my term is until March 2013. That is 8 months from now. I was unaware as to any terms of service based on a committment of 1 year. previously with rogers i was month by month so this was not an issue. being on fixed income $160 to cancel my cable and keep my neeede phone seems a bit much. Where exactly are the terms of servicwe. I was never told where these were and no letter came in the mail-just my first bill.

As far as I'm aware, they can only charge you for a month... basically, you have to give them 30 days notice, and pay for those 30 days. However, you must also return any equipment that you don't own outright when you give your notice.
Terms of Service can be found here (PDF) and here (Roger's site). I don't see a $20/month remaining fee listed or mentioned anywhere, just the 30-day cancellation requirement. Perhaps they're mistaking your cable contract for a cell phone?
Mind you, if you signed up for some sort of promotion, then Rogers is entitled to get back the amount you saved each month. For example, if you saved $20/month, and decide to cancel after 4 months, then you'd owe Rogers an additional $80 on top of the 30-days $ worth ($20 x 4 month = $80).

Here is some helpfull hints
you should always ask what is the cancellation fees upfront before signing a contract. Next thing you know that free shiny iphone you received and the 3-year plan have a cancellation fee of over $500, wow, not so good of a deal if your future is uncertain and u might have to cancel?
secondly, any time u make changes to your account, ask what the cancellation fees wil lbe, will they change? its always wise to ask this, most canadians do not, we do not need to be uneducated, were a first world country, lets stop acting like were not one.

I am in very deep trouble, I got internet/voice/data/cable/phone lines from Rogers just couple of months ago and I signed 2 years term. Now I got job out side Canada for two yeard and I would like to cancel my all services.
Rogers customer services says that they will charge me following
Phone Line : 160$
Cell Phone : 480$
Cable : 400$
Internet : 160$
In total I will pay 1200$ + taxes.... Ah I will die... this is insane...
Its just they are blocking me not to go out for job....

I just cancelled my house phone and was so distraught by them was told back in february that there isnt a fee to cancell my home phone. Does anyone know if there is or not. I did have a 10 off promotion in January when they renewed it for another year without my consent ( very ticked about this) I will have 3 months left. Do I have to pay anything in regard to an early termination fee?

For that $10 promotion, yes, it would have been for a 1year contract.. (i think mine just ran out).
But they shouldnt have just added it without consent.. in things like this, it doesnt need a signature per say, but if they offer it on the phone and you OK it, it will go on.
Best you can do, is call up and complain that you never did agree to it.. and see if they can waive any fees.
