Had @RogersHelp help me with this. Following a bit of troubleshooting, a factory reset of the modem did the trick. Thanks a ton to the Rogers Tech who helped me. The tech didn't tell the name but thanks a lot to you!!

Hi @pmehley

Are you still experiencing issues with your services? Have you tried resetting your modem/digital box?

Anyone else in the community experiencing any issues with services in the Aurora, Ontario?

Re: cable internet down

It's still down after 13 Hours. A ticekt opened with Rogers last night. Yet to hear back. Had to go to the office so I can work since the Turn Around Time as told is 24 Hours

Re: cable internet down

Lame...

I wonder if they opened a ticket because its an area issue...

Edit: Nope never, mind... you clearly stated all of Aurora, ON

Misread somehow...

25 hours. Tech support says turn around time is now 48 hours as opposed to the one I spoke yesterday who said its 24 hours. Case is said to be in progress that I don't see. Not even a single courtesy call from Roger..

Re: cable internet down

canadianoutages.com show a big red in gta for rogers

Re: cable internet down

Up in newmarket (two locations, sothern and norther at my brothers and mothers place).
Up north of newmarket (georgina).

May be more southern.

One thing to remember as well.. that outage site is based on user reports alone... nothing actually network check, etc.
False reports, people reporting any issues (say which are out of rogers control.. power outages, issues with user hardware) can all effect those reports as well.

Glad to hear its back and working 😄

This sort of enforces my above point as well.
While i guess that this could generally be rogers fault that it needed the factory reset (say.. bad firmware update or something?)... its something more localized.. and not an OUTAGE as the site may then lead to think.

Re: cable internet down

My internet is down yet again. Ironically just did an upgrade that was supposed to be better for me and the only way I have been able to get on the net is by logging on as a guest in my own house!?!?!?!?!?!

Re: cable internet down

Are you able to log into the modem to check the wifi network names and passwords?

Re: cable internet down

Yeah.. if your loged in under your GUEST account.. means your internet as a whole should be working...

I would do a full factory reset on your modem (hold down the reset button for a good 30 seconds)

This should bring it back to factory defaults.

Then connect a machine wired to it, if possible.. and go to 192.168.0.1 and log in with the defaults

L: cusadmin

P: password

And go and set up your wireless security settings, etc.

Then see if you can connect.

(if your not able to do wired to it.. give rogers support a call, they should be able to remote set up your stuff for you)

Re: cable internet down

A tech came and did something on friday. now my internet speed has dropped. i dont see why i have to spend for 100u speeds when i am getting only 47 mbps. please please fix this. i am connected direclty to the modem with wired connection. before the tech came, i was gettign >150 mbps. the only issue i had before was disconnections. now i am getting less than 50 mbps.

Re: cable internet down

@Dobegun what was the original reason for the tech visit?  Did the tech change the modem during the visit?

Can you log into the modem, navigate to the STATUS....DOCSIS WAN page, copy the downstream and upstream tables and paste them into a post.  That will paste in the text contents of the tables, so you don't have to post a screen capture or link to one.

Re: cable internet down

Rogers send a tech

"We have just completed running diagnostics for your area and the modem. The area is responding well. However, the signal levels on the modem are out of specs. Was anything changed inside the home, like relocating modem or adding splitter etc.? "

it looks like the tech put a filter on the modem

I've Been Here Awhile

Hello,

I just installed rogers WIFI in my house and it worked perfectly for the past few weeks. However, I'm having a trouble to access internet today. My devices are able to connect to the wifi but I just cannot load any websties. I checked the indicator light on the modem and found out the upload light (the second light from the top) is blinking, the download light (the third light from the top) is off, the "@" light (fourth light from the top) and the "device" light (fifth light from the top) are all off. I've tried to restart the modem twice and it didn't work. I'm wondering is this the problem related to my modem or my network and what am I supposed do in order to resolve this issue?

My modem's brand is "hitron" and the model is "CGN3AMR" if that helps.
