It's not about spending more money, though; a digital terminal (or PVR) grants you access to a more larger selection of programming than the adapter does. It's a value to have a terminal, and most people spend more per month on Timmy's than on their terminal rental.
Very true, BAppel81. Different people have different priorities. Some buy bottled water. Others buy drive-thru coffee when they could make their own for next to nothing in comparison. Some people stay with basic cable because watching TV is not their highest priority. Since I'm retired on a fixed income, I've set a ceiling of $100 for my cable and will either cut the cord or downgrade if inflation exceeds that amount.
