audio problem for television

For some reason, on our television screen on the top right hand corner, it says "Mute". Now everytime we change the channel, a picture on the screen, but there is no sound. We want to get rid of the "Mute" but we don't know how.

Try pressing mute on your TV remote as opposed to the Rogers remote.

the rogers stb might be muted, you can unmute it by controling the volume of the pvr itself (this is eplained in the remote manual) or try pushing the vol + button on the set top box front panel and see if that helps.

Press the CBL button first. See if that helps. If not, then try the TV key and the volume buttons again.

How is the digital box connected to your tv? Is it also connected to a home stereo? how do you normally control the volume?
