Why do recorded shows play back with a black border?

We have a Nextbox 3.0. When we watch recorded shows, they are usually displayed on the full screen.  When we watch shows recorded on CTV, they play back with a black border and a much smaller display area.  I've gone into settings and can really see a way to change the play back so that it fills the screen.  Advice?

If you're talking about channel 518, there should be no problem with it. I watch it everyday and never see what you're describing. If not, what channel are you watching?

May depend on the show. Is it normally in widescreen when viewing live?

Some things like big brother, while aired on an HD channel, is broadcast in sd, so has the borders at the sides.
