I assume this is Channel CTV2 for you? What happens on Channel 595, which is the "remapped" channel?
Edit - I have a few more comments.
1. If you're using an 8642 as the PVR, a 9865 (NB3), may help since it has more "resources".
2. Place the PVR in the viewing area where you do your most viewing. Then watch from the PVR itself, since then you should not get the "not enough resources" popup. Any recordings that give you these issues should not be watched from a "distant" STB, but rather from the PVR itself. Also best to programme recordings and delete recordings at the PVR rather than from a STB.
Hope that helps.

Yes, the channel 20 is the TCTV2 mirrored in 595.
Thanks for reply, however, none of the suggestions work.
1. I already have 9865 (NB3) as the PVR, not the 8642.
2. My PVR is in the most viewing area. Channel 20 is not the mostly viewed one, just couple of times a week.
3. I have no choice but to watch recordings from channel 20 on the PVR itself. Well, unless played within a short period of time after the recording process ended as I have explained in the original post.
4. All the recordings are being programmed (as well as deleted) from PVR itself as the extension box 4642HD is terribly slow.
5. I have just tried your suggestion to record from mirrored channel 595, however, the result is identical.
Again, this is not a problem with resources. It is just a standard message about "either recording deleted or not enough resources". With my test on channel 595 the results are just like on the channel 20 I have clearly identified. I am able to play the recordings on the extension box 4642HD within a short period of time, which is no more than one hour after the recording process ended (please refer to my original post with the example). After that the recording plays only on the PVR.

Sadly, it's now April 2017. The WHPVR function has worked well (after a few initial hiccupps) for about two months.
The non-PVR HD box showed the message but the PVR box is still able to play the videos. There was no "home" icon on either PVR.
I powered down (unplugged) both boxes then rebooted the PVR. When it was up, I did the same with the HD box.
It looked good for about 2 minutes. the "home" icon reappeared. Then the image got disrupted / pixilated for a few seconds, played, then I got the above message.
Since this process seems to use MoCA technology, I think this is not a internet problem but a tuner-in the HDBox or cable issue. But it did work initially.
I'll call Rogers when both boxes are free and se what they say.

Here is an update to my previous posts. After all the run around with replacing boxes and home wiring the customer service rep informed me that the issue is internal problem and is expected to be fixed by April-May. As of May 2017 the problem has been resolved by Rogers. It's been 6 month by now and I have no problem with any recordings.
Thanks to all the people who posted here, I think the amount of feedback from us all convinced Rogers to invest into fixing the issue.

Hi
My problem was resolved on the third try. Seem that there was a "poor connection" in the Rogers closet. causing the communications between boxes to not be sufficient.
Since that was resolved, it has worked constantly if not fast. No "Not enough resources" messages

I recently obtained an added 8642 (nextbox 2) digital terminal as part of my package and began to wonder about whole home - I maintain one DTA for the low use TV.
After reading the issues that people have, I am wondering if the potential problems are worth it.
Anyone have experience with the Nextbox 3.0 PVR connected to a Nextbox 2.0 digital terminal.
What is involved in the setup that makes it all work. My biggest concern is the Nextbox 2 terminal, as it is a bit of a slow pig.
Thanks, Bruce

I have the following comments regarding WHPVR and various components.
1. Typically WHPVR is utilized by people who have one PVR, a number of STBs and wish to watch from any location in the home.
2. If you have nothing but PVRs and don't mind watching your recordings on the PVR/TV combination where you set your recordings, there is no need for WHPVR.
3. The 8642 is very slow and is probably even slower in a WHPVR scenario.
4. If you're not sure where you're going to watch a particular programme, you can always set the recording on both PVRs...
5. I have several PVRs and have not seen it necessary to incorporate them into WHPVR, but, of course, each person/family has different needs.
6. If you have managed without WHPVR and rarely see a need for using it, I would recommend against it. If you're often longing to see something from "another" box, then get WHPVR.
7. What makes it work is some setup by a technician and/or a CSR, along with a MOCA filter required to preclude signals getting outside your home. A visit from a technician is required for WHPVR installations. After the first WHPVR installation, it's sometimes possible to replace/add additional boxes without a technician visiting.

@57 Thanks for your clear explanation.
And in particular your concern about the 8462 being slow already, and your (and my) concerns that it may be even slower is a show stopper for me. I have been checking stores, and there are not any nextbox 3 terminals in my area at the moment.
My dentist office just had their equipment "upgraded", off the DTA's, and they got the 8642 - they are not happy, but in the business environment, they had been told that is all they get as a move up from the DTA's to get the full channel selection.
Kind of predicted this as the company is moving off these devices in general (the old SA, then Cisco) and next Comcast and Technicolor, so we have a completely aging, and rapidly becoming obsolete model of set top boxes, and a whole home TV model that won't exist under Comcast.
Thanks for the input - I was thinking about it as we PVR a lot of stuff, and I wanted to watch some it in a different room from my wife's activities, but all of those are available to me via on demand, in general. And I overcame the limitations of the DTA - I use Anyplace TV to watch on Demand or using my Home Anyplace version hooked to the TV.
So I can live without it - thanks for helping with my decision.

My experience is that there is quite a delay when accessing the remote (PVR) device, but once playback starts the video is smooth. It is still faster than searching in VoD. This is true also for managing items (erase, search, record).
I also believe the slowness is caused bu communications delays in the MoCA cable link. Appropriate filters and connections in the cable closet are important as I discovered as a succession of field technicians visited our site. Performance improved after the more experienced teams (two people) focused on our problems.

Whole Home PVR Feature stopped working
I had a tech visit today to try to fix the slow internet speeds and weak signal levels I have. As part of his test, he unplugged my cable modem (which has my whole home PVR filter on it) and plugged the modem to the tap. He found weak signal levels and slow speeds at the tap and opened a maintenance ticket.
I plugged the modem back the way it was and check to see if the Internet link was working and it was and the tech left. This evening I was trying to watch some shows and record and I can't do that as home network link is not working.
Could someone please tell me how to get it to work again? This was the second tech visit and I really don't want to have to take time off to get a third visit. BTW, the tech said that the red filter is not needed for whole home anymore. Should I take it off? I tried both ways and the whole home light is not working.
My current signal levels to the modem are as follows:
