Using Filters on the New Rogers Mail format.

Hey all, 


Just wondering if some of you smart types might have any idea about this, 


In the Rogers mail format I have been using for a while (not Rogers Mail Classic-I think it would be considered the 'old New Mail format') to create a filter i was able to simply click Actions and then 'Fliter Emails Like This'. Simple and easy.


With this new format that option no longer seems to exist.. Now it seems the only way to create a filter is to go into Options, Mail Options, Filters, Add Filters and then, most annoyingly, type in each email manually (meaning I have to either remember or copy & paste it). 


Yes I know, I know it's not the end of the world. But it was certainly much more convinient before. And if one has to make several filters at once, it can be annoying and time consuming. 


Does anyone happen to know of an easier way to make filters with the new Rogers Mail format? 


Or, failing that, does anyone know how to switch back to my previous format?

It's been a while since I've had to do this, but as far as I can recall, it's always been like this on Yahoo Mail (that's really what Rogers Mail is - they just have their name stamped on the banner, they have nothing with the actual service as far as I know.)  I've only seen "filter messages like this" on GMail.



Updated Solution: To Set Up Filters in Rogers Yahoo! Webmail

  1. In the address bar type
  2. Login with your full Rogers email address and password.
  3. Click on the small gear icon located at the top right hand corner then click Settings.
  4. Click Filters.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Enter the following:
    • Filter Name: Desired name for labelling the filter
    • Sender: The person who sent the email.
    • Recipient: Your email address.
    • Subject: Text held within the subject field of an email.
    • Email Body: Text held within the body of an email.
    • Each field can be broken down by the following criteria:
      • Contains: Filter emails that only have the specific criteria
      • Does not contain: Filter emails that don’t have the specific criteria
      • Begins with: Filter emails that start with the specific criteria
      • Ends with: Filter emails that end with the specific criteria
    • Then deliver the email to the following folder: Choose from the list of folders or create a new folder
  7. Click Save to complete the changes.

To revert back to the basic mail format

  1. Click on the Gear icon on the top right.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. On the right hand side, click on Viewing email.
  4. Under mail version, choose Basic.
  5. Click on Save.
