Is there an app or anyway to use Rogers wifi calling/UMA service with iPhones?

No current iOS devices support UMA. Not extensible by apps. It's not merely a function of the software, the internal chipset has to support the bridging.

RE: Use iPhone with Rogers wifi (UMA) service?

Hello everyone.

Can someone please explain exactly what counts as WiFi calling?

If I am home connected to WiFi,

-No long dsitance charge (within canada)

-No International charge (U.S.calls)

-No International charge (calling other countries)

This is how I understood what WiFi calling means.

Is this correct?

If I interpret you correctly, you are assuming that you can make phone calls through wifi.  The only way to do that is with a third party voip service or something like Skype.  Your phone doesn't make regular calls through wifi.

Oh sorry, I mean using my phone to make a call. From what i was told Wifi calling goes through the Internet instead of Rogers network. So I'm assuming I shouldn't be charged.
If someone can please verify if I am understanding this correctly. Thanks

Hello Jaimy

The iPhone 5 can NOT do WiFi calling. No iPhone can. This is a hardware that Apple needs to add to their phone.

The ONLY way to do internet calling is by downloading an app. No you won't be charged anything at all.
