Hi,

We'll be travelling to the Philippines for a few weeks shortly and I was wondering whether it is possible to get my iPhone 4 unlocked so that I can use it there with a local carrier?

Thanks

BILL C-343

HOUSE OF COMMONS OF CANADA

It is legal to unlock cell phones in Canada. As your contract ends with your carrier, the cell phone is now your property and upon your request to your carrier, they have to unlock your cell phone free of charge to the customer. Now you may use this with another carrier! This is LAW !!!

Also, if you buy you cell phone out right from your carrier at the beginning of your contract, same applies, they have to unlock it free of charge to the customer at your request. You need to request this, otherwise they will try to charge you.

The Law is ' Bill C-343 ' (House of Commons of Canada), Here is the link:

I'm a Senior Advisor

@fmalik87 you just put in your sim card and you can use the phone.

Chris is right, you would be able to just put your own sim card in, with a plan (or pay as you go) and be able to use the phone, as long as its a rogers card/plan.
As for unlocking it, you wouldnt be able to do it as you are not the original owner of the phone.
