Outrageous behaviour - Rogers cuts off soccer - makes you fork out 20 bucks a month for DAZN

Nasty surprise - Champs/Europa Leagues started this week and not on TSN. Soccer on TSN took a major hit, a clear statement that if you want it you must pay 20 bucks a month plus 13 % for DAZN. I am am amazed nobody mentioned this - like sheep following each other over the cliff, Canadian soccer fans either pay or gave up the best games in the world!?

We are all in agreement that it is a tough loss for canadian soccer fans, no one on here is happy to see soccer leave conventional cable tv channels, so even though we gave an explanation of why soccer is not on conventional cable it does not mean we are okay with this explanation, we all miss it too but we understand people with deep pockets and influence these things and we have no say in them we can only vent and express our frustration

It’’s a shame that big corporations like Rogers and Bell they lost all the rights to show soccer of any competition. DAZN company beats the BIG TWO (ROGERS AND BELL). Unbelievable and shameful.

Regretfully, they just bid low because they were not making enough ad revenue from Canadian soccer fans. This was followed 3 weeks ago by the same with Barclays Premier. As a British Colony, I thought we could continue to get some scraps from the limeys but they decided to feed their own first and got rid of Canadian commentators too. Now, you must get used to the cockney and, above all , pay extra and upgrade your WiFi at home.

To be perfectly honest, DAZN has a better product.  They have basically have every match available for up to a week compared to cable providers that will only broadcast maybe 1-2 games on their channels with no replay-ability unless you PVR it.

No compensation from Rogers - just us all being asked again and again to take less for same the price.  A unique thing that the ENTIRE planet HAS (and had forever) - best Soccer played by best in the world on cable!!!!
This week, DAZN blamed the Roku streamer for the fact they were down one day - missed both the He Série A and the Carabao game. By definition, a streaming service from across the ocean can never have the reliability level of cable . Presuming one has 20 bucks to spare a month after already paying for cable, the optics aren't great - just two monopolies here in Canada deciding Canadians won’t have the worlds most important soccer on cable - no Canadian soccer commentators to boot. Unacceptable for all And the vast majority expressed this view. No mitigating factors whatsoever. Only a clear message - you’re not worth it and “no soup for you”

rogers cable does not have a say in which content their channels carry, its not up to the BDU for that but the individual channels to decide what content to display.

if you have an issue with no networks having the broadcasting rights for champions league,then you have a valid complaint yes, but you need to direct your complaint at the owners of the sports channels who were previously airing champions league. TSN = Bell Media, Rogers Sportsnet = obviously its owned by Rogers, but not rogers cable, Rogers MEDIA. Fox Sports = 20th Century Fox / Fox. BEIN = Aljazeera

Absolutely it is not a done deal - on the contrary - no automatic spot for Canada just because we are co-hosts! I wish I were wrong but I double-checked. I'm hoping that the decision on this is not final yet!

Soccer coverage as of June 19, 2020

Seeing Bundesliga on Sportsnet is nice - first ever without an extra streamed service subscription - will it last?

Even without spectators - to get to see our young Canadian player doing well for Bayern Munchen is inspiring!

It seems that our collective rage and protests  about having to pay DAZN and/ or BEIN , etc..on top of cable, plus having to put up with the inherent weakness of a streamed service from overseas versus Canadian Cable - with our own excellent commentators - are both muted!! For me - it was a must that I see the highest level of play - Barclays Premier and UEFA!! So - I pay DAZN! Even now - when I got nothing for 3 months paying DAZN , while now...well..you know what's on now!? Suffer baby, suffer!!

As a British Crown Colony possession, at least we can still see the Barclays Premier that the Bell Rogers Alliance get from the Limeys for our servitude and money we pay to the British Institutions and their parasites here , disguised as the Monarchist League! DAZN had numerous interruptions.

Simple I just got back from Europe and my bill for Rogers’s is over 200$ and I’m canceling it right now and then you go complaint to UEFA.
