Transfer info to Galazy S Captivate

I have a general question.  I want to transfer information to my laptop  from my Galaxy SGH-I896. I have tryed to tether and use bluetooth neither works.  Emailing takes to long.  do you have any suggestions?

Try connecting your phone with USB cable and use Samsung Kies program to transfer your data.

Also, if you have an SD card in your phone, then most of your data should reside there.  That is where I set my picctures etc to reside.

If so, then all you do is unmount the card, and put it your computer and just copy it off.
