Text being sent to 9116 since kitkat upg on S4

Since I did the upgrade to kitkat lats night, there is an outgoing text from "me" to 9116 with "STATUS".  I have about 15 since last night at 6pm. Any idea what this is?

It's likely your Visual Voicemail+ App for Android, it doesn't work with KitKat.

Hmm alright, well then I guess this is why I always do a factory reset after any major update, usually clears any of these weird side effects from an update. I'd suggest backup whatever you need from your phone and wipe it out and see what happens from there.

My daughters S4 is doing the same thing.

Have you tried doing a factory reset to see if that fixes it? Back it up before & then do it.

Found Visual Voicemail Plus in the Applications Manager (you have to select the ALL tab)

Uninstalled it.

We will see if that fixes it.

Yes, That did fix it.

We have been told that Visual Voice mail (a really great app that I really loved) doesn't work on the S4.

Somehow is was installed on my daughters brand new S4 and was not on the standard Apps pages.  However we found it in the manage applications screen.  Once we uninstalled it, the problem went away.

(don't be cheap with the Kudos if I saved you a reset.)

Exactly what I said to the OP originally, it's the VVM+ app.

It's not necessarily incompatible with the S4, it's incompatible with KitKat.

I used Visual Voicemail on my s3, and really loved it.  They told me it could not be turned on my s4 (even pre kit kat).

The service was decommissioned a while back, which is why they said it wasn't supported on the S4, but it didn't necessarily mean it does not work.

As AnonymousUser said, Rogers indeed stopped using the VVM from Rogers. The app still exists and works but for older devices. Newer devices it will not work.

Super weak. Had same issue after upgrade to Kit Kat, and uninstall fixed. Too bad, the app was pretty clear cut and clean...

It could be some apps causing the issue. There is no way of knowing what is going on at the moment as many have the same issue but its caused from so many things.

Same problem here. Called Rogers and was advised the only fix was factory reset but I just followed advice above instead by deleting VVM+ app and voila! Fixed! Saved me the hassle of losing & reapplying all my data. Thanks.

Yeah it seems the VVM app is causing the problem. I would suggest whoever is having this issue, remove the app.

I have vvm on my s4 I love it. If I uninstall vvm will I still get my vm over text with kit kat
