SureTap Now for Samsung Galaxy S4!

Hello Everyone!.

Samsung Canada & CIBC today just announced the Samsung Galaxy S4 is now able to be used with the Rogers Suretap program. This means if you have a CIBC account, a Rogers NFC Suretap Simcard, you need to dowload the CIBC bank app & now you are able to use it on your phone. This will let you to use your phone on any tap stations when paying. Just like you would be doing with your VISA payWave or MasterCard PayPass. The Sim card is $12.99.

Again this is ONLY for the S4 on the Android OS. Hopefully they will bring out more devices but this if for starters.

Re: SureTap Now for Samsung Galaxy S4!

Hello Rogerlebo

I used it on my sister account as i do not bank with CIBC. It was pretty good without any issues. Some people looked at weird but saw that we did it on our phones.

Re: SureTap Now for Samsung Galaxy S4!

Hi!

Waiting for my VISA CIBC card, I read this CIBC page :

https://www.cibc.com/ca/mobile/payment-app/learn-more-pre.html?app=android

This question is very interesting :

How do I make a purchase ?

Here is the answer on CIBC page:

When you’re ready to pay, look for the contactless symbol , Visa payWave or MasterCard Paypass on the merchant terminal at checkout to see if that merchant accepts contactless payments.

When the cashier is ready to take your payment:

  • open the CIBC Mobile Payment App
  • enter in your passcode (if you set one)
  • select the image of your credit card
  • hold your smartphone near the merchant terminal with the screen facing up

Please see merchant for confirmation and receipt.

My understanding is that this first step is missing :

  • turn on NFC on your phone

Am I right?

Have a nice day!

Hi!

Today, my dream came true.

I received my new CIBC Visa card.

And now, I pay with my Galaxy S4 : IGA, Pétro Canada, McDonald, Tim Hortons, . . .

Everything works very very very well.

Thanks to Rogers and CIBC.

What a nice day!
