Social App and OVI Store not working after Symbian Anna Update on N8
days after the Symbian Update on my N8, my Nokia Social App encountered an error, when i log on to the social app, then choose Facebook, after clicking on sign-in, it signs in, but it comes up with a message, "unable to download feeds", this happened even before i got the Anna update, and after i got the update, it seemed to have fixed it, but now....its back, i already tried reformatting the N8, then reinstall everything back, but it still comes up with the same error. In regards to the OVI store, it will initially load up the spalch screen...it will say that it will sign-in...and thats it....anybody who has the same issue? or has any idea how to fix this? i found a work around on the OVI STORE issue, i installed a beta version of the OVI store, i don't know if this is the same thing that AJ suggested(AJ from Nokia USA Discussions), you can go this link - http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/store-qml-client, it works well with my N8. Still searching for a solution for the Social App problem.
When I did it, I first did a reset in the software itself (dailer> *#7370#), then format your mass storage (file manager>long press drive "E">format). Then do the 3 fingers reset.
*note, there has been reports where the 3 fingers reset bricks the phone. Also, doing the above will wipe your phone completely clean, so backup anything you would like to keep. Anything stored on your SD card will not be touched and safe.
Or you can just download apps using the nokia store web client on your computer. You will need to connect your phone to your computer to download new apps.
As for social, you can try out Gravity. A great/must have app for the N8 to view twitter/facebook events and links.
