Samsung Galaxy S2

I've Been Here Awhile

I spoke with a Rogers rep and he said that they will not be getting the S2 yet. He said probably not until earliest September, but more likely even later in the year.

Too bad...its an amazing phone, but I've been saving my upgrade for months and months for the S2 only to be disappointed that I have to wait for everyone else to get it first. Smiley Sad

From RogersMelanie:

The first LTE device to launch will be the HTC Jetstream LTE tablet which is set to launch October 18th. The Samsung Galaxy S II LTE will follow after. We do not have launch details yet for that smartphone. We’ll be sure to update when we have news.

I'm Here A Lot

So i have a quick question. If anyone could answer it would be amazing. Im possition 916 ( yea i know far from first) but am i possition 916 just in the one store ive chosen to pick it up from? all of my city (edmonton)? all of my province (alberta)? because 916 city wide isnt bad when theres so many places, but 916 from one store is terrible... Any help would be amazing. Btw to answer some peoples questions i too have spoken to sevrel representitves all of them said In october it would be released, along with one was spacific enough to say as off one to three days after the 18th the relese of their new tablet.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S2

Everyday that goes buy is one day closer to the end of my contract.  I've been with Rogers for 9 years but the phone selection is pushing me away.  By the time the Galaxy S2 comes out at Rogers, the S3 will be announced.  I also find the 200$ subsidised price outrageous for a phone that has been out for almost a year.  Bell is offering the phone for 50$ less and is giving a 75$ rebate to people who switch.  Bell will probably lower the S2 to 100$ when Rogers finally releases there LTE version so Bell's offering will be 175$ cheaper.....  Only 3 months left on my contract.... thanks for making it so easy Rogers!

if I'm not mistaken and I'm fairly certain I'm not, you'd be 916 in the COUNTRY

Ok, its gotta be soon now.  I just noticed that Rogers has dropped the 3 year contract prices online for the Evo 3D, LG Optimus and a few others to $0.01 on select 3 year plans.  Hmmmm glitch in the system or making room for some new phones????

Rogers will release the iphone 4s before the gs2 lte, no one will buy this crappy phone any more I meant the iphone 4s, what is good in this phone, the speed 1ghz dual core????
Or the screen size 3.5”??????

Come on Rogers, I know its American product but we should still support the best phone.

People sold their iphone to get the iphone 5 but they were surprised with the new feature of the iphone 4s (all new from inside)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would you consider this a good or fast product any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any way most Rogers rep saying the gs2 MAY BE available at the end of the month!!!

Good luck folks

nope... if given identical specs the Nexus line are the phones to go with.  No bloatware from Rogers or Samsung and timely and ongoing updates direct from Google.  My Nexus One recently got an OTA upgrade to 2.3.6.  How many Samsung phones (or any other brand for that matter) from the same era can make that claim.

Rogers, you're already behind once your LTE phone eventually comes out. Quad Core ftw GG.

Samsung S3

Re: Samsung Galaxy S2

I Plan to Stick Around

the Galaxy S III will feature a dual-core 1.8GHz Exynos 4212 processor (no quad-core just yet), 2GB of RAM, a 12MP camera, and a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED Plus HD display. That screen technology would provide HD resolution without falling back on the PenTile technology found in Samsung’s current generation of HD displays

Apparently you can't read. The article itself explicitly states a quad core processor. Please provide the source where you took it from.

Thanks.

This wait is getting to be mind-numbingly ridiculous. Another week will go by that I won't have my new phone, and then more than likely another.

I'm seriously contemplating ditching it for the iPhone 4S that I could have by Friday morning.

What do you guys think?

Either you're an iPhone fan or you're not.  I count myself firmly in the NOT group.  Having the capabilities of my phone limited by the sensibilities and pecadillos of a corporate entity is NOT my idea of a good investment.  Blocking porn and hate speech is one thing, blocking the works of Pulitzer prize winners and applications developed by your competitors is taking things too far.  Controlling what I am able to do with a product that I OWN is unconscionable and, under no circumstances will I deal with a company that prizes that action as a core value.

You, however, should spend your money with a company whose values fit with your own.

AMEN jckelly!!!

Trust me, good things come to those who wait! I think you should either wait for nexus prime or the s2....

you wouldn't want to be buying the iphone 4s and then regret that you bought it because the s2 came out 2 weeks later.....

that would suck!
