Hello everyone!. 

 

 

As we all know by now, the Galaxy Note 4 was just announced via Samsung. It's a beautiful device which offers the latest and greatest from a higher PPI screen to the fingerprint scanner and 16MP camera with a 3.1MP front camera.  

 

As we know all if not most carriers will offer this device.  Now i know Rogers hasn't said anything YET but i am sure they will and once they do, they will let us know about when it will be offered on the Reservation system and what the price will be on and off Contract.  

 

This thread is made for people that have questions about the device or when Rogers will release it and your reservation numbers when it opens up.  Please post anything about this device.  

 

 

Samsung Canada as confirmed that the Galaxy Edge might not come to Canada.  Stay tuned via Samsung Canada for that device.

I am curious why reps saying that issue will be resolved tomorrow, nto today. Is it due some batch process that Rogers cannot overwrite in order to add ability to do HUP or just their rough estimation?

If you worked in IT you would know if things are seriously bad, it can take time and it all depends what it is. That's why they rather take their time and fix the issue then fix it let's say today and u go to the store and same thing happens.

The Willowbrook store in Langley had extra phones if your store is not able to do the manual upgrade.

Patrick was the name of the guy that helped me out.

Thanks, ill try contacting my original store first. See if i can push them into a manual upgrade. My friend was in and out of the bell store in guildford mall with his phone in 15 minutes. Terrible on Rogers part.

This is retarded! I went in today and was told the same as most here that they can't do the upgrades until probably tomorrow yet I see some people reporting the odd stores are processing the upgrades. Rogers needs to FIRE the fool(s) who botched this up so badly but I leave to go visit friends in the States tomorrow before any stores will be open.

 

Guess I am going to call Rogers and see if they can do something over the phone and have a phone held at a store for pickup otherwise I am going to check out the nearest Wind store and switch if this is the we can expect from Rogers!

Lol. I am sure it will be fixed tomorrow. After using it for a bit i love it!I am using it for my business and using the iPhone 6 Plus for my personal line. Screen is really bright and colors are amazing.

Haha! It feels way better then the Note 3 to be honest. I love the feel of the Note 4. I updated the phone the way i wanted it and just put my work sim in and use it. Battery seem really good so far but it's only the start.

I would wait until tomorrow and see but I'm going to be out of the country early in the morning before stores open so only option for me to get this today is by switching carriers so at this point it looks like Rogers' screw up is costing them a customer and I am sure I won't be the only one either.

Lots of anger on twitter. I hope people dont put blame on the front line CSRs who are going to take the verbal abuse for this.

 

Anyone in Toronto? How is the launch party for the phone that no one can upgrade too lol

 

I'm still trying to get more info on the manual upgrade possibility. Not off work for another 3 hours unfortunately.

That Is your decision on what u do. Yes Rogers screwed up but half of you guys don't work for IT to understand what goes on and how long it may take. You guys just complain about the carrier and mistakes it does. Yes Rogers is not perfect but the others aren't perfect either. Just saying because it seems you guys are a bit inpatient. I understand you are leaving and all but if the stores are being used told they csnt do much until tomorrow, then wait until u get back to get it. Its only a phone honestly..

By no means am i protecting Rogers as i have had a far and way more experiences with Rogers and i can say things BUT look at the whole picture instead of bashing and complain about them. Try to understand what is going on. Rogers is known to barely give info but it's info they can't really realese publicly as it has do with their IT department. No company releases that info. Rogers_Chris posted something. So atleast Rogers did say something. Take that in the way u want but most were complaining how Rogers didn't say anything but they have now.

As for the issue? It seems to be something huge or maybe the phone Serial numbers or phone it selfs is not valid to be out into the system . This can also bring Samsung involved as well . Many things can be in play.

It takes time to fix a issue. Do you want them to resolve it today and have far more issues to deal with or screw up ur account with a glitch or something because of it? No u don't and neither does anyone else. So guys be a bit more patient. Tomorrow u guys will have the devices in ur hands...


Don't blame any front line reps because of the mistakes and try to understand where they are coming from. Rogers Chris posted tomorrow it will work so tomorrow it is. I am sure u guys can wait and if u can't, no one is forcing u to get it outright or from someone else but remmeber, leaving Rogers for another carrier doesn't mean u will get treated better or worse. Always review what others say about the carriers and make sure they offer what u want and all. All carriers aren't perfect and have issues.

Rogers in the path system underneath the BMO tower did it for me and is able to do it but got told to stop from the email.

The store in the Eaton's center was doing manual upgrades but again got told to stop. It seems stores were able to do it but via that email no store can or will but won't listen to the email lol.

I agree that people are impatient, myself too

I too have had more good experiences with rogers than bad, For big launches its understandable that issues arise, but for a phone they have known about since September, people are being told that the phone isn't in the system. People I talked to are frustrated because (whether right or wrong) it seems like this is an issue of pure incompetence. People also have had this date marked on their calenders for a long time, combine that with seeing competitors upgrading phones with no issue hurts.

Again, this is where I believe the frustration stems from, whether right or wrong
