Rogers Web mail issues

I notice my emails in my INBOX get moved by the server to the trash every few weeks.  Why does this happen?  I keep them there on purpose and store others in sub-folders.

Re: Rogers Web mail issues

Hey burnside8157,

What exactly is happening here?  You login to mail.rogers.com and every few weeks your messages are in the trash?

The only setting I am aware of for moving mail automatically is for Spam within the Rogers webmail service.

Do you access this mail account with any 3rd party applications such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Live Mail etc?  Within most of these applications they have the ability to remove the mail from the server and also have the ability to remove from the server after a certain timeframe.

Feel free to PM me if I can help further

Thanks,

Re: Rogers Web mail issues

AndrewNP,

While i am not the OP, i can confirm kind of what they said.

Mind you it has not happened repeatedly..  But both my mother, and my wife, have had this occur to them once.  Where they can be in the webmail just fine one day, then the next day they go in.. and ALL the email is in the trash folder.

Now, my wife does access the mail on her iphone.. but its just a copy to it.. it leaves it on the server.

My mother, does not collect her mail by any other means.

Re: Rogers Web mail issues

check to see if you have a program on your computer, or if one of your devices ie tablet, or ipod or somethng else has the "leave message on server" unchecked.  this will pull all new mail off the webmail and then into the devices inbox leaving the inbox on your webmail empty.  you can also stop using pop3 and start using imap to connect to the rogers server instead and see how that goes,  imap allows better control when the mailbox is being accessed by multiple locatons and/or devices.

Re: Rogers Web mail issues

This is what I use.

While at home/work, I use Firefox.  At home I so have Eprompter but it is only setup to delete mail from server if I tell it to.

I also have the accounts on my iphone of which does not delete from server at all.

Example:  I have  3 "read" messages in my inbox.  Weeks go by and then suddenly I log in and the messages are gone.  I check my trash and they are there.  I move them back to my inbox.  Same thing happens every few weeks.

It's weird.

I think its a bug.. again, i havent seen it on my wifes or mothers, more than once.

are you updated to the lastest 'style' of the webmail? not using an old one?

Yes, I've got the latest webmail. Not that I like it since every update they make seems to slow it all down.

Re: Rogers Web mail issues

Do / did you connect any MAIL client anywhere (a PC, phone, etc?)

If it was set up via PoP.. it ma have DOWNLOADED all the emails without leaving a copy.
