Rogers/Shaw Gateway Portal

I'm a Hamilton Shaw to Rogers customer. I'm looking at purchasing a Shaw gateway with 2 portals from a previous customer that has now switched over to another provider. 

Can this gateway be setup by me? I've read that there is filters than need to be place on your line, would I be able to have a Roger's tech come set it up and would they even setup a previous shaw product??

In Ontario Rogers uses Cisco hardware. I doubt the old Shaw hardware is compatible.

Alot of the hamilton shaw is still using moterola stuff (wha shaw was using).

You would have to call rogers, let them know that area your in.. and then they can see if those boxes can be added to the account.

Yeah, I was wondering how the change-over would work without changing all the boxes. Anyone from Rogers here that can enlighten us on the timeline?
