I used to have the old CGN3 modem/router with 250mbs plan and changed into the 1gbps plan with the CODA-8582U modem/router and online gaming has never been the same since. I will have varying ping rate of 36-50 and then it will suddenly jump up to 200 and back down. It's quite frustrating and makes Overwatch unplayable. Nothing on my network has changed and I have gone through Roger's multiple times and even had the modem/router exchanged. I even put the router on bridge mode and just used my own router and nothing has worked. I am tired of having to deal with Rogers Tech Support and I wish I never changed my internet plan.

High Ping Issues During Gaming
So around the end of March, an issue with in-game lag started. After trying third party routers, factory resets, and wired connections, QoS, nothing has seemed to fix it. A service technician even came and fixed nothing. The ping in-game will jump will jump from 30-40ms to as high as 400ms. Today we switched plans to the Ignite Gigabit plan, which included a modem upgrade from the CGN3ACSMR to the CODA-4582. The issue with ingame lag persists and i have run out of ideas.

My problem started 1 week ago when my ingame ping started to go from 28 ms to 150-300ms. I tested other multiplayer games and it consists in all of them, so its not due to a specific game server. Also, i plugged in the ethernet cable to another PC to test if its something to do with my PC and the same issue was present in my other computer as well. I am convinced this is an issue on Rogers side. I had a technician come over and he did not know what to do. Please look into this!

This is insane. The last few nights, everything is completely unusable.
At times my gigabit service wasn't even able to break 100mbps.
Games are lagging so bad every 20-30 seconds, 2-3 seconds of complete loss of connectivity.
Something needs to be done. This is an unacceptable breach of service and it appears that nobody is even willing to acknowledge that there are gigantic issues with Rogers these days.

Seems like what you guys are experiencing, is what I'm experiencing as well. All started about a week ago, and I believe it's related to the IPTV roll out.
My latency from the node went from ~5ms on average, to anywhere between ~20ms-80ms (if not more).
I know a tech that works for Rogers, and he spoke to one of the higher ups and they said that all of Ontario is experiencing some issues after the roll out. Check out my smokeping graph to the node:

High Latency and slight jitters past 6pm
Hello,
since about a week and a half ago my ping has been spiking past 6 pm. I am a gamer and this is affecting my experience drastically. I usually ping to a New York based server at 30-40ms but once it becomes the late afternoon my ping spikes to 75+ms to the same servers. This problem exists with any server I connect to. I have searched around but I could not find anything recent about this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Having the same problems. Started a couple days ago. My upload speeds have been extremely slow too. It was fine this morning at 10mbps, but right now I am only getting 1mbps.
I'm in Brampton.

@rahba @Luffness there is some issue with the Rogers network that Rogers has not detailed or responded to publicly. Start.ca has responded to their customers with the following update today: "Update June 11th: Rogers has acknowledged the problem and is working on a fix, No ETA has been provided at this time."

Since 2-3 weeks i'ts impossible to game, no matter what games I play, I get random lag spikes every couple minutes.
On Gigabit ,wired with an Ethernet cable.
speedtest is fine 950 mbs,32 mbs up
Please Rogers Fix your INTERNET, the quality of the internet is extremely poor right now and needs to be fixed ASAP.
What's going on? please give us updates because this is is clearly not normal and need to be addressed.

It's been almost 2 weeks that I can't play normally. I don't exactly know what's going on with the network but is garbage right now. Whenever I do a speed test it shows my regular download and upload speed (150mbps download / 15 mpbs upload) but it just doesn't feel right, I keep getting spikes in any game I play almost every minute. Tried getting a new router and nothing, contacted customer support multiple times and they keep telling me that they opened up a ticket but no support whatsoever.
Is there anywhere we can make a complain about this? Is just frustrating how this people get away with everything when we are paying for a service.

Its been 3 weeks now and i really dont wana be rude, i understand people have jobs and etc. But this issue has not been resolved. Im getting 200-400 ping spikes in games. Im paying well over 120 dollars a month to have a descent internet connection but in return im getting some 3rd world dial up connection. If this issue does not get fixed by next week I WILL BE SWITCHING TO BELL FIBE! FIX YOUR PROBLEMS

my ping spikes have also come back recently

Ping spikes and packet loss have also come back for me in the past few days. It would be nice if Rogers informed us on what's going on.

it's been months that i can barely stream from OBS. All devices on this modem have horrible upload and have major frame drop issues. Talked to support many times. They kept telling me it was a problem on my end. Clearly it is not. I stream from home to make a living and have been unable to even do a single clean broadcast for a very long time. The losses occur on any connection. As if the moment the internet is coming into contact with twitch it decides to drop. I've been across canada with multiple devices and have streamed fine on every network except rogers. Very very frustrating and i can't switch because no other providers have internet out where i live.

I tried to stream about a year ago on gigabit hard wired with Rogers, it's impossible. 1 year later it's still atrocious even just watching twitch it always cut. Rogers is very bad for streaming and gaming, will this ever be fixed? If it is it will be in a very long time.
