Re: Rocket & advanced wi-fi Hitrons has PROBLEMS

Downstream is still down, but thats because of the amplifier.  Something to keep an eye on in the future.  The upstream is much improved.  Did the tech change the external cable?

What are the speeds like now if you run a check at http://speedcheck.rogers.com/en.html or www.speedtest.net using the Toronto Telus server.

Has the new firmware been uploaded?

Re: Rocket & advanced wi-fi Hitrons has PROBLEMS

Speed 323 Mbps, upload 10.8 Mbps.

Why is my upload 10 now? It was 20 before

The new firmware hasnt been uploaded yet. Still on 4.4.8.13

Re: Rocket & advanced wi-fi Hitrons has PROBLEMS

Hmm, a little odd.  Call tech support and make sure that the modem is still provisioned for 20 Mb/s upload.  Maybe that changed for some reason when it should not have.  Also send a pm to @CommunityHelps as your modem may have been missed in last nights uploads due to the signal issue.  See if it was missed or if it's on the "to do" list.

Re: Rocket & advanced wi-fi Hitrons has PROBLEMS

@shahin912 did you call tech support and find out if the modem is still provisioned for 20 Mb/s upload?  A thought had come to mind that possibly your area had been downgraded to 10 Mb/s on the upstream side.   I had that happen in my area and it remained there for some time before coming back up to 250 / 20.  That is something that you would have to ask tech support.

Re: Rocket & advanced wi-fi Hitrons has PROBLEMS

My upload speed was actually fixed after tech rebooted my modem.

Re: Rocket & advanced wi-fi Hitrons has PROBLEMS

Hi there,

After having a look at the pinned post, it seems my signal levels are off. Could someone have a look and point out anything I can do to make things better. Note that I'm on 100u with CGN3ASCMR(4.5.8.16) and also have Rogers home phone and TV.

Re: Rocket & advanced wi-fi Hitrons has PROBLEMS

Your downstream signal levels to the modem are down, well below where they should be and the signal to noise levels are at the bottom limit of their normal range.  The signal range is + 15 dBmV down to - 15 dBmV with a median or target value of 0 dBmV.  The signal to noise ratios are normally 36 to 40 dBmV.  The upstream levels are fine.  The normal range is 36 to 40 dBmV with an upper limit at 51 dBmV for three channel upstream operation.

You have an external cable or connector issue on the go, which is why the downstream levels are low.  Check the back of the modem, and the wallplate connectors and ensure that those connectors are on tight, by hand is usually sufficient.

Call tech support and have the Customer Service Rep run a signal check on the modem, and check the node as well. The outcome of the conversation should be a tech visit to your home very soon.

Firmware Version 4.5.8.16 should be loaded on the modem within 48 hours of it going active on the network.  If you have had the modem beyond 48 hours and the firmware has not updated it can be requested from CommunityHelps.  That version resolves issues with gaming, VOIP device and VPN connect / disconnect issues, It also resolves the latency issue to and thru the modem, which all CGN3 series modems suffer from.
