Recent (Sept 9) OTA OS update - anybody else get it?

elliottzone
I've Been Here Awhile

A few days ago (Sept 9) when I powered on my Rogers Galaxy Captivate, an OTA push automatically started with no other notifications or warning. It had the yellow icon of the little Android guy shovelling something, and a message to not turn off the phone during the transfer. Prior to the push I was running 2.3.3. After the push (about 8 hours!) I STILL had 2.3.3, but now the phone is running slowly and it's randomly restarting itself.

Did anyone else get this?

Rogers folks -- does anyone know what this was, whether it was a Rogers push or a Google push, and what it was for?

I was getting pretty excited after a few hours thinking it was a major OS upgrade, but... nuthin???

Hello elliottzone,

According to the info that we have 2.3.3 is the most current OS available for the Captivate.

Thanks,

So what was the 8 hours of OTA "updating" that was happening? The phone was already running 2.3.3.
