This app which used to work properly is now broken. I find it useful (when it works), but it has been broken for a long time now, is anything being done about this? Even the Fido My Account app which hadn't been updated since 2011 was updated recently (and it worked perfectly fine). It bothers me that this app is broken when it used to be really helpful with managing the PVR and other providers have similar apps.

As your tag states iOS. so this isn't regarding the Android Lollipop known issue.
How is it broken? Have you attempted to uninstall and reinstall the app including cache? (Uninstall all updates / reinstall updates if it was a pre-installed app)

I can't change the date on the guide in the app nor can I access my recorded programs list. I just get "Error GENERAL_FAILURE". It used to work on iOS 7. I mostly care about the inability to see your recordings.
The Rogers Anyplace TV Home Edition iOS app on our iPad and iPhone has not been working in our home for over a week now. We have three Nextbox 3 devices, one of them a PVR. We use the app all the time to program the PVR, but now all our nextbox devices and PVR have been showing as Unavailable, and attempts to connect bring up a "General failure"
The app has always been occasionally wonky, but this is the first time it has not worked for an extended period of time.
Yes we have rebooted all our boxes multiple times.
That solution is not the solution for me, I've already deleted it and reinstalled it. It stopped working for me when I first installed iOS 8 (in September). Apple must have changed something in iOS 8 and broke the app, if your app was working last week that was likely a separate issue. It was like that for me too before I installed iOS 8 but now it's always broken. It even says the PVR is minus 1% full now after I refreshed the settings. I think the app needs to be updated for iOS 8, but I'm guessing that won't happen until Apple breaks it completely like the Android version appears to be.
But, at least I can still set recordings from it and use it as a remote... even when broken this app is still useful.
@RogersAdam- I believe this issue is not "solved" yet.
Is it only on your current devices, iPad and iPhone as you stated?
This is only troubleshooting, I would recommend uninstalling the apps on both devices, and also remove it from iTunes as back up... and then reinstall.
You are right, this is a cache issue. but if you are sharing the same Apple ID on the device(s), chances are, you are sharing the cache files as well for the App.
You need to remove all instances of the app from that Apple ID. so if you have any other devices that share the same AppleID and they have the app downloaded to. remove it. iCloud/iTunes whereever you back up apps, needs to forget about this app altogether.
This is how I fixed one of my issues with my mom's iPhone when her app was not going past the main screen because it coudn't read saved game file or something...

I tried what you said and you are right!!! I deleted the app from my iPhone (I don't use the app I just put it there to be able to test from another device). Yes I was using the same credentials in both places.
So now I just have the once instance on the iPad, I logged it out, and logged it back in again and it was working!

I think it was more to do with a *Rogers* ID not the Apple ID. You have to sign in on the app itself with your Rogers ID and I kept signing in on two devices at the same time and it's cache gets confused.
I only have one Apple device so it can't be because of that. Also games are different I think as they save their data to your phone. But hopefully that fixes it for you.
The newest update doesn't work on my ipod touch 4 when I start it all it does is show home screen for a sec then close right away,I tried doing restore on ipod it didn't work, so only way it works is if I use the older version.
I dont know how or why its doing this now but the most recent update to the Rogers TV Home Edition is giving me access to a PVR that isnt even assigned to me. I've tried reinstalling the app numerous times and the same thing. Should this be an issue to take up with the support line on the phone?
