I am looking to obtain a record of text messages received by my phone. I do not need a transcription of the messages, just when they were received and what number they were sent by. Is anyone aware if I am able to get this record, and if so, how?

Welcome to the Rogers Community @Tony8888Tony88!
We certainly want to help you shed some light on this.
Are you looking to obtain the phone records for your own line? Keep in mind that the outgoing usage is available to you, but if it's not for your account or if you're looking at obtaining the incoming usage, a court order is required.
This means that in order for Rogers to provide you with any information, the proper documentation needs to be requested by a judicial authority. Normally, this will be handled by a lawyer, prosecutor etc.
If you could provide us with more information on the nature of your request we could potentially assist you with more precise details.
Hope this helps!
I just double checked my account, as it has detailed billing, and thought it might show there, but it does not.
detailed billing, will show you all the call, weither chargable or not, in and out.. but unfortunatley it doesnt show anything on text messages.
As meowmix said, these records, while they are recorded in some fassion, are not redily recorded anywhere.. and have to have special methods to retreive them, normally on when court ordered, as he mentioned.
**** Updated Solution****
Rogers One Number has a feature which is called Coverged Messaging. This feature allows the customer to receive and manage text/picture messaging in one combined inbox. Text message conversations can be viewed on the website for 30 days.
Welcome to the Community 🙂
Are you referring to numbers for incoming calls that you recieved or text messages? If it's for incoming calls which were received, you should be able to view them on your next bill when it's ready. If these were for missed calls and you are noticing that your phone isn't showing them anymore, I do not know of a way you can recover them. Was this a result of a phone update or reboot? Which phone are you using?
I dont beleive that its a detail which is recorded bill wise.. only outgoing.
(generally for billing purposes, etc.. your only charged for outgoing.. so might need to know WHAT number you got billed for, etc).
Likely for a full incomming log, might fall under needing to go above and byond.
You could try calling in an seeing if thats something obtainable, without needing a court order, etc for full records, etc.
@Meowmix Yeah, I use my PayGo phone only for necessary calls when I leave the house. My call log actually shows more than Rogers. I have a handful of calls in the last couple of months, where people using smartphones 24/7 would have hundreds in the last week. I see an option to delete call logs, but nothing in the manual that says there's a limit or the list being truncated beyond a certain point.
But just the fact that organizations with super privileges, like law enforcement, do have access to more history than mere mortals means that Rogers does have that information, just shares a limited amount with customers.
So if you're interested in keeping records, there should be a way to back up and archive call logs before they're deleted. I don't see that on my phone, but maybe smarter phones have the capability. For example,
There are a couple of false claims in this thread.
1) That no carries offer detailed txt msg billing. I can see all of sent and received text numbers and phone numbers with another carrier.
2) If this is a 'privacy issue' as other claim they've been told by Rogers, I don't believe it. ALL carriers are regulated by the same authority. If it's not allowed by Rogers, then it would also be disallowed by other carriers.
The truth is more likely that their systems were not developed to do this and it will cost a lot to recode the systems. They don't want to tell you this because their competitors CAN offer this. It's a simple call to some others (there's not really that many) to find out who does and who does not.
I suspect it will magically stop becoming a 'privacy issue' when they change their software. 😉
I want to know my call history because someone has been harassing me and I want to file a report to the police. But I made a mistake by deleting my call history. I also blocked his number and others cause he has been harassing me. Is it also possible to find out if the caller has been calling me cause I blocked him? Please I am threatened and I have no proof to tell the police. He knows everything about me so I need this proof please.
