Nexus home screen

How can I delete the number of home screens on the Nexus? I only want 1 or 2 max.

You can't unless you install a launcher app and then the app will let you have as many home screens you want. Not standard one gives you the amount you have.

As Meowmix said, you need to use a custom launcher.
If you're running Android 4.x, you can try the Apex Launcher that looks a lot like the default launcher :

If you're still running Android 2.x, I suggest you try

It's all free so you can give them a try and uninstall them if you don't like them.
