New firmware update for Lumia 900

Just got notified and updated phone.  Looks like a new version of the O/S and the firmware:

New versions are:

O/S = 7.10.8779.8

F/W = 2175.2301.8779.12224

Haven't had a chance to play with it yet to find out what's different.

Theese updates have been out for a while, for the Lumia 900 anyways. The updates got pulled for some reason, at least that's my understanding. It' was discussed here: http://communityforums.rogers.com/t5/forums/forumtopicpage/board-id/WindowsPhone/thread-id/879

I already went ahead and flashed my Lumia 900 to 8779 for OS and firmware, fixed my issues that I was having.

I've had 8779 for a while now, and I'm not sure about the .8, but the 12228 firmware is later than I had seen previously.

Sorry, that should read 12224.

8779.8 is Tango and is a month old or so.

8779.12224 is an update in Nokia's firmware and that was pushed forward today. No changelog yet.

Yea.. I haven't been able to find anything about what's in 12224 either. Have heard of some in Europe seeing a 12301, so maybe the changes are operator/provider specific???

I don't know for you, but I realised that my Marketplace icon have changed. Now the windows logo on box has been changed for a "n" ... probably for Nokia

As well, the radio software and hardware version have changed.

Radio software: 2.1.75.10  to  2.1.75.22

Radio Hardware:  8155  to  8055

Makes sense that we'd get an upgrade to the radio software.  Not sure about the 'downgrade' in the hardware 🙂
