My wife was just moving through the new navigator and has the following questions, concerns.
The first screens for the guide are fine, but the fonts are a bit small, even on a 46 inch TV. We are all getting old, let's not forget us.
In the section for listing and managing recordings, the boxes cut off the full names of the shows, don't show dates, would rather have option of old list style with all details right in one spot.
When looking at multiple shows, you have to go to each listed show recorded, but there is no reference to the date until you highlight the show. Then this highlighted information on the show is even smaller and I have almost perfect vision after my cataract surgury, and I can barely read it. My wife can't read it at all. You do have the date on the top right that is in a bigger font, but the show information is almost unreadable and my 24 year old daughter who just came in also comment that it is almost unreadable.
Is there an option for increasing font size and changing to a list view rather than the boxes on the list of the recordings page. Don't like the box feature or the way the contents view at all for the above reasons. See little or benefit for this change.
Otherwise, I am kind of indifferent to the new layout, but do like some features. I will probably turn off the banner across the bottom off in settings. I can get the same information from the guide.
Yes, there is a bit of getting used to change, but some of this change seems to be change for the sake of change. I do like that it takes less clicking to move around though, it just the display formats and font sizes that are creating legitimate problems for my family.
BS

@park: Maybe I am not reading it correctly, but I thought they said that after the box is connected, a factory reset is done and then the old (RTN) software will be installed. Since the factory reset will delete all recordings, there will be nothing to convert.

Delete those ghost recordings ?
I take it you can't delete them the normal way.
Did you try a reboot ?
Unplug, wait 30 secs, plug in again.
Othwise call Rogers and have em mess with your machine remotely
Have your lawyer handy if they zap your recordings.
Else all you will get is a machine swap, a few $ your bill, some ondemand credits and a box of popcorn !

Ok guys here's a new one. I get home from a week long holiday. All my scheduled recordings miraculously "took" without incident. HOWEVER...... there are also 5 new tiles that read Unknown Recording. Also states Manual Recording. That in itself is odd since we can't do that anymore but I digress. I click on the tile. It reads:
Title Unavailable
Dec 31 1969 7:00pm - Dec 31 1969 7:00 pm
that's right 1969!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway "watch" brings up a blank screen that then freezes. Delete gives me the confirmation prompt but when I press yes it won't delete.
So now I have 5 extra tiles clogging up my screen. Someone please tell me that they also have this and have a solution. Please don't make me call customer service. I beg you.
My Navigatr has officially entered the twilight zone.
This isn't a new problem, this is yet another unfixed bug that is also in RTN 5.1 (& earlier releases) and yet further proof (as if any was needed) that Rogers did NOTHING in the way of fixing existing bugs in RTN, instead they just wasted money/programming effort ruining a perfectly functional user interface with these stupid tiles, removing function we had in the previous version, and of course introducing new bugs.
Unknown/Undefined recordings with a time of 7:00p and length of 0min (and on Navigatr as you discovered, also the 1969/12/31 date - basically meaning the date field is zero or blank) seem to occur, from my experience, when the box reboots (either intentionally, or unintentionally as in after a freeze/lockup or power failure) during a scheduled recording (or just before, and hasn't finished the reboot at the time of the scheduled recording).
You may also find recordings on whatever channel was scheduled to record at the time of the reboot will start messing up. You may find they record under the name of the following (or preceeding - I can't recall which) program name. For example if recording NBC the Tonight Show recording may actually record Late Night, etc.).
The only way to get these Undefined/Unknown recordings deleted, and to stop it accumulating more, is to reboot. Just don't reboot during the time of a scheduled recording or the problem just continues.

Bingo! I don't have Navigatr, but from all I've read and the screen shots, that seems to be what the designers have been trying to mimic. (I don't have Windows 8 or 10 either. If I needed a new computer, I'd probably pay twice the price and go to the dark side.)

Hello @jinx8910,
Have you figured out how to install and setup the Rogers Anyplace TV Home Edition App? There is some information on the Rogers.com support page you can find here. When it asks for device name and model, have you tried putting in Apple Ipad? Please let us know.
@ShakTiburon, any suggestions?
Thank you,

RogersHassam: Please excuse me for getting my back up at your suggestion that jinx use the Rogers Anyplace TV Home Edition App to solve the bugginess in your PVR. This solution makes me angry because Rogers has made it IMPOSSIBLE to use the Rogers Anyplace TV Home Edition App on the PC (on Windows) since about April.
WHY did Rogers delete and disable the Rogers Anyplace TV Home Edition App for the desktop computer? And why is Rogers MANY months behind on making this App work with the new version of Android?
And it would be REALLY NICE if you could honestly and candidly explain to us WHY Rogers is pushing Navigatr down our throats. Maybe we would be a little more understanding and patient with you if we had some understanding of the motivation for implementing this incredibly hard to use and klunky 'improvement' to our PVR.
I hope you are sensitive to the fact that most users of Navigatr are EXTREMELY unhappy with this new interface - and we are very insulted that Rogers calls this an 'upgrade' to make our experience 'better.' Navigatr is MUCH HARDER to use. And awkward. And inconvenient. And irritating. And annoying. And frustrating. Etc. etc etc ....
And it's even harder for to take for those of us who have been around long enough to remember SARA on the SA 8300 box. That IPG was FAST AND RELIABLE - and when Rogers introduced the very (CPU) underpowered and buggy NB2 - they discontinued about 15 features that SARA had that I used every day.
And now Navigatr AGAIN withdraws many features that we have become accustomed to using. The ability to see at a glance what programs are scheduled is a fatal flaw in an interface. Using Navigatr is like forcing a car driver to get out of their car and pop the hood in order to shift into Reverse.
I hope you understand that your customers want ANSWERS. You will get a lot more patience and sympathy from us if you don't keep us in the dark (and keep feeding us .....)

@RogersHassam - I personally have not had any experience with Navigatr, Only played with my box few times, my PVR did not get the update only my HD Nextbox did. I only use my HD box (as it's in my room) and watch 2 channels (if I turn my TV on at all) -- Not enough hours in the day to watch TV. I am following through this thread however but my input would be no use as of right now.
I can assist with the Any Place TV App itself - There is a lot of different topics going on in 1 thread.
AnyPlace TV Home Edition app shouldn't ask you for the box model - However, It does list which ones you have. This applies If you are logging in from your profile (that's linked to your account) as it will auto detect all compatible boxes.
@OLDYELLR Dark side? You don't mean ... *gasp* ... APPLE? Don't do it! (Windows 10 is good though, Windows 8... is a joke... and not the ha ha funny joke either)

FYI - depending on the View of My Recordings (on RTN 5.1 at least) the recordings may show as 'undefined' (By Date or By Channel) with a recording/episode description of 'null'. If viewing By Title and there are more than one, you will see a Folder named 'null' containing 'recordings/episodes' named 'undefined',with a recording/episode description of 'null'.

Another new problem with Navigatr. We decided to delete the episode of True Detective that Navigatr failed to correctly record (wrong program, wrong time, wrong length). After selecting delete, and yes we were sure, nothing happened. So, we did it again. Nothing happened. The show is still there. So, I pressed exit. Now the tile is gone. So, it now looks like it's deleted. Now the box is stuck in some process that's sucking up CPU time, as it takes at least a second to respond to any command. Had to reboot to get it back to "normal".

So THAT's why everything is so screwed up - Rogers has gone into the Time Travel business!

@roxandtreez Wrote "The only place I have seen the "Manual Recording" since Navigatr is in the Android tablet app, and it was for future scheduled recordings that were not yet available in the Guide, because the Guide had not yet been updated for later in the week. So I wonder if you have access to the tablet app, and maybe it would allow you to delete the scheduled recordings, because it will bypass the Navigatr user interface. "
Actually, pre-Navigatr we had at least one recording on the PVR that was a "manual recording" with nothing in it. Couldn't watch it or delete it. Eventually they disappeared (or maybe I just blocked them from memory!) and post-Navigatr they are gone.

Had similar problem (though not identical, my recording was recorded correctly).
Reported it on this post a week or so ago.
In my case Navigatr gave no feedback when I hit delete. Repeated it , still did not know if it deleted correctly.
When I exited, it moved the tile to the end, and as it can find no scheduled programs, the tile vanishes.
When it updated the guide, in the wee hours it finds the scheduled program one week ahead and the tile shows up, at then end. Confusing to say the least. This leads to another problem with Navigatr.
As was already pointed out series that have ended have no future recordings and will eventually accumulate in in PVR neverland with no way to erase them. Eventually it will overflow, with who knows what consequences.
Rogers, How you gonna fix this ?
Maybe just say so: scheduled (0).
You are welcome.
PS: Problem did not exist with the old guide. All future shows scheduled or not were visible.
PPS: Sports programming can go for many months before restarting, so please don't have the PVR do an autorease of any series that have been in neverland for a long time.

For example, some of you let us know that the Guide’s font size needs to be bigger, so we’re working on it and are testing new sizes. We’re also looking at ways to improve the recording guide based on what you’ve told us. And in the meantime, we are doing comprehensive testing to make sure the next NAVIGATR roll out goes smoothly. Once we have more details on timing and next steps we’ll share it here.
Thank you...but is it possible to be slightly more specific? I understand that the rollout has been halted and you are doing more testing, but is it possible to have a clear answer about your intentions? It seems to me a lot of the anxiety and frustration on this customer board is founded in a lack of information.
And so...is Rogers currently:
A) fixing the parts of navigatr that you do not believe work well (unintentioned glitches) but that will not change the core functionality of your product (i.e. you are working to prevent future deletions of programs during upgrades)?
or
B) fixing the aspects of navigatr that people have raised as issues and which will improve some functionality but are mostly about appearance (fonts or an indicators to show if a program has been "watched" or is "new")?
or
C) fixing aspects of the core functionality of navigatr based on customer feedback (replacing tiles with lists or breaking out recorded shows from shows to be recorded)?
It seems to me that someone, somewhere in Rogers has a project document called "navigatr 2.0" that defines the scope of the work to be undertaken in this paused rollout phase.
If so, please share the scope with your paying customers. If not, that would explain alot about navigatr 1.0.
Thank you.

Agreed ... a big step backwards . Hard to believe it was tested . Imagine getting paid to create this fiasco . I'm a blues guitarist , and I can't get away with this level of sloppy work on my gigs !

I've had a Suits series recording set up since before the switch to Navigatr. After deleting last week's episode the tile disappeared. I assumed it was the previously mentioned problem where series with no shows scheduled don't show up at all. I now discover this evening that Suits wasn't recorded last night. Is there any indication why? Nope. Because Suits is on hiatus and Navigatr therefore won't show me if its still scheduled for recording.
To make it clear to Rogers:
1. Navigatr doesn't show ANY listing for scheduled series when there's no episodes in the current guide.
2. Navigatr is not recording things that it should.
3. Just give up on Navigatr already. You know it's inevitable once you unleash the Navigatr on the larger market,
