Has anyone come up with a good solution for using more than one Nextbox in the same room.
(e.g. 1 television, 1 VCR )
The problem is that all the Nextboxes listen for the same control signals from the remote
control. If I use the remote to change the channel I'm watching on the TV it also changes
the channel of the Nextbox connected to the VCR, potentially breaking a planned recording.
I'm trying putting a block in front of the Nextbox to keep this from happening but so far
I've not been completely successful
Any suggestions ?

After some experimentation, I discovered the couse of my problem.
I'm using multiple NextBox HD terminals in the same room.
The Cisco manual for this device (Explorer4642HD) is less than accurate
about the location of the IR sensor on the front of the device.
The IR sensor is located to the left of the clock display and right of the control
buttons. Once I put a cardboard IR block in the right place, stability was
achieved. I don't change channels enough to try the IR repeater suggestions.

On top of 57s suggestions, may I ask WHICH boxes you have right now?(though my guess, if you are using a VHS with one.. you have two regular digital boxes and not a PVR?)
with the new nextbox 3.0, you can use one remote on RF (radio frequency) and the other IR
Thanks for the update. Glad you got it to work. Usually shining a flashlight directly at the STB display will help you find the exact position of the IR sensor.
