What really makes the Lumia range stand out is the availability of different colours. Rogers, in their infinite wisdom, decided that wasn't exactly a good thing and decided to only get black and what baffles me even more is that Nokia actually thinks they'll get anywhere selling just black.
Haven't they learned anything from the less than stellar sales of the black-only Lumia 900? Guess I'll be holding onto my upgrade. Thanks Rogers.
I wonder how the conversation played out with Nokia:
Nokia: We have this really great device with these stand out features and they come in great colors so you can have them stand out in your stores and give it a better shot at increasing your sales.
Rogers: Terrific, however, we'll only be taking the black one. Our customers weren't terribly excited when we did the exact same thing 8 months ago so they are probably used to it by now. Thanks.
Whomever at corporate thought this was a good idea needs a reality check. Way to jeopardise the sale of the device.
Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback with us! We're excited for the arrival of the Nokia Lumia 920 and the passion exhibited here confirms that many of you are too. I've taken your feedback here and shared it internally with our wireless team. We really appreciate it!
Thanks, hopefully we'll see the new colours sooner rather than later. I've yet to see a single person want a black 920 over the other colour options, and I'm in the group who will flat out refuse to pick one up in that colour. I'd take anything other than a bland black or white...
I may not like Rogers and the way they conduct their business but man it's blasphemy to not offer any sort of color options to consumers.
Playing it safe with 1 color is pointless. All of us want to buy a colored version of the phone and will probably hold off until it's available and because the black doesn't sell, Rogers wont offer any other colors down the road either. What's the point of killing the phone before it's even available?!?!
C'mon Rogers, do right by consumers and give us the ability to pick the color of our phone!!
I hope that Rogers actually acts on feedbacks and get the colours in, but I'm not holding my breath since I don't know if the management would actually listen to anything said here. Why is it that AT&T can do it, but Rogers won't?
There are tons of feedbacks on the Internet on how outrages it is for Rogers to only offer black. When the 920 was introduced it was introduced with lots of colours. Somebody had to make the conscious decision to go with black only. Lumia 920 is an amazing phone and Rogers is going to ruin it.
If the situation stays the same by launch time with no alternative colours together at launch, I'm taking my business elsewhere.
