yeh, I'm pretty dissapointed about that too.  I just renewed a 3 yr term, and got a Galaxy Note 2, expecting to be getting LTE any week now.  I'm glad Shaw has alot of Wifi hotspots in Winnipeg, because 2mbps "4G" speeds are practically useless.

LTE will be coming to Winnipeg, Just need to wait for MTS and Rogers make an agreement to allow Roger to activate there LTE service in Winnipeg. MTS was smart, they wanted LTE first so they can get more customer. It will take a little time but Roger will get LTE at one point. Just have to be patient and wait.

Even if that is true, Rogers should at least let customers in Winnipeg know what is going on. Let's be honest here, Rogers CAN mail, email or phone call customers in Winnipeg and let them know what is going on with LTE. Nothing tho because they are afraid if they say something, customer may leave. That is wrong tho because customer will stay if u let them know what is going on. Not telling them anything will make them leave.

I feel ripped off after I bought my S3 and renewed with Roger's. If I had known that LTE wouldn't be available in Winnipeg I would have chosen a different carrier.

The problem is that no one knows what is really going on with LTE in Winnipeg. Last time i heard there have been issues. I would feel ripped off but never believe what a rep says unless u see it for your self.

If Rogers doesn't have LTE in Winnipeg in the next month or two I'm making the switch over to MTS. My 60 year old parents have LTE with MTS and they surf on their iPhone 5 making my Rogers Note 2 look like a snail. Not to mention MTS and their unlimited data plan. I've been with Rogers on pay as you go and now contracts for almost 11 years but this no LTE thing in Winnipeg is getting out of hand. Saskatchewan has LTE are you kidding me? Step your game up Rogers

Like i said before, it could be a issue with MTS not letting Rogers have LTE in Winnipeg. No one knows what is going on & no one is saying anything. I would just switch over if you want LTE & if Rogers gets LTE then switch back or whatever you would like to do. They could be having technical problems adding LTE in Winnipeg but nothing has been said at all.

MTS can't stop Rogers from having LTE in Winnipeg. From what I hear Rogers has a deal in Winnipeg with MTS to share their towers for 3G service because Rogers was too cheap to build their own. However MTS hasn't agreed to share LTE service. So now Rogers has to build their own towers all over the city, which of course takes time. They thought they'd have it done before winter but didn't. So now they are waiting for spring and good weather to continue their work. And if you've been in Winnipeg lately you know spring doesn't appear to be coming.

My guess is that someone assumed that they'd just share tower access with MTS until the last minute. Then someone else misestimated how much time they had in Winnipeg before the weather became bad.

And therin can lie part of the problem..

Putting up a tower, while is seems simple.. there is ALOT of red tape for it.

Land has to be aquired.  Zoning has to be allowed for a tower in that area.  There is all the legal things where people come in and are allowed to voice against having a tower there.. etc.

This can all delay in getting a tower up.

There has been land for one just north of me, for almost 5 years now.. still now tower.. it keeps getting tangled up in legal stuff and complaints likely, that it still has not been built 😞
