Re: LG Eve Android update

I have the liquid also. I was considering going with the Froyo LCR. Does everything work? Do you have any issues? Is this the wrong place to post this? I see no liquid category...

Re: LG Eve Android update

Well...I had issues with LCR...Kept freezing up and crashing so i went with the stock build of 2.2 that was released...I have to admit it works awesome...Now for the LCR build I ran 1.8 with no issues...If manage to get the newest version of LCR let me know how you did it...I presume you rooted the phone and are running Malez on it right? That is the best way to add the LRC using the SD card method...If you have any questions let me now...Cheers

Re: LG Eve Android update

When will 1.6 be released so I can rekindle my love for my phone?

Pardon me for asking the question here, but I went to the redboard and found nothing recent or significant.

<rant>

I like my LG Eve - not for any of the pre-loaded or proprietary apps that Rogers has put on it, but for the (few) apps that are (still) available for android 1.5 on the market.  What is it about 1.6 (which is ancient by OS standards) that makes it so difficult to test on the Rogers network?  If its the proprietary/pre-loaded apps that are such a big deal (investment), why even bother?  people who want to be babied can go with other (fruity) OS's;  people who buy android expect a hassle-free "dumb pipe" to the internet.  There's no way Rogers can (or should even try to) keep pace with the worldwide community of android app developers, so why make your customers wait ?!

Re: LG Eve Android update

Youtube links on installing 2.1 and 2.2 on LG Eve

Taken from http://openetna.com/openetna/about/ nice break down on how to install, what is needed etc. Obviously unsupported by Rogers but the Eve is a brick as it stands so can't really lose.
Lots of reports that this puts the Eve on a different level, better apps, crazy fast etc.
