Keeping your phone number

I am going to be moving away and may need to cancel my contract if Rogers cannot cover that area. Is it at all possible to keep my phone number when my contract is cancelled? I want to keep the same phone number (I like it), but I am not sure when I would be moving back to the Vancouver area, and I don't know if Rogers would want me back as a customer.

Re: Keeping your phone number

You cant just hold the number.. without having some sort of plan, etc on it (prepaid or postpaid).

Now, if you are switching carriers due to that coverage.. you can have them port the number over.. but it would be a number for your old area, not the new, etc.
