Re: Internet is next-level slow

Bigest thing i can say.. is call and get a tech out ASAP to look at things.

Your singal level is WAAAAY lower than it should be.  That could be causing a lot of issues.

Re: Internet is next-level slow

Yup, exactly.  The downstream levels are down in the -10, -11 dBmV range and the signal to noise ratios are very low.  Thats the real problem.  Strangely enough, the upstream signal levels are fine.  Tech support should run a signal check and send a tech to check the cabling and connectors.

Thank you, folks 🙂

A tech is coming today and we'll take it from there.  Awesome community!

Re: Internet is next-level slow

I was looking at those signal levels again later last night.  Can you confirm that you have a CGN3ACSMR modem?  It looks like you are missing 12 of the downstream channels, which would definitely slow the data rates.

Re: Internet is next-level slow

Yup, you definitely have cable problems.  This time you have 14 downstream channels.  There should be 20 down and 3 up.  Probably time to replace the external cable.

There are three CGN3 series modems, the CGN3, CGN3ACR, and CGN3ACSMR.  The CGN3ACSMR is undergoing a firmware update this week to resolve issues with online games such as League of Legends an others, as well as latency issues which affect gaming and VOIP devices and VPNs.

Re: Internet is next-level slow

Let's hope he arrives for the 2-4pm meeting in the next 10 minutes.....or maybe this only takes 5 minutes to fix when he gets here.

EDIT: they made a mistake - they will be here tomorrow from 2-4.
