IgniteTV 4K sports channel badly freezes during the game

Tried two Raptors game and ended up switching to HD.

Anyone one else had issue like this from last Raptors game?

I think Ignite TV cant handle the bandwidth when lots of people watching 4K.

I'm on gigabit package so its not from my end, with wired from modem to all my boxes.

That was a great series! I'm not seeing any known issues reported from the two games.

Did anyone else in the Community notice similar issues with the last couple of games in 4K?

looks like no one watches sports in 4K or I'm the only one with this issue!

The picture quality was  fine for me,  every 20 minutes tho, it would 'jump' backwards and replay the last 15 seconds.  My box is wifi, the tech said I shouldn't use a wire.

I get this everyday with the 4K channels.

Mine is hard wired to the modem directly and have exact same issue

this is not with all 4K channels.

Only games that lots of people watching like Raptors

So its Rogers bandwidth or backend issue.

As always it takes few months for Rogers support to acknowledge that is known issue.

They ask me to call them when its happening during the game!

I'm sorry I like to watch the game that I paid for and not spending 30 min on call with support trying basic troubleshoothing!!

Here we go again with Rogers Ignite and another issue......

Thanks for responding! One other thing... Does hard wiring have any advantages? I noticed that while in the guide, it would freeze for a second (the guide) while scrolling , I have a lot of extra channels that I can't seem to hide... Does channel changing speed up a bit? I sometimes get the 3 dots on the screen for a couple seconds before the channel loads. My modem is going to a switch that the installer donated because of the lack of ethernets on the modem. So Router>Switch>Box basically.

I’ve had Ignite TV for few weeks and have the same issue with SN 4K (channel 507 in Ontario), especially during Raptors games. The main problems I seem to have is freezing and jumps backwards 15-20 seconds. This has to be an issue with Rogers because SN1 4K and TSN 4K work perfectly fine and is only channel 507 seem to be giving problems. My boxes are connected via ethernet.

looks like its isolated to SN 4K only. Have to wait for TSN 4K.

I had my box replaced on Wednesday and the tech said that it seemed hotter than usual.  Maybe that was the reason for skipping and slow scrolling in the guide.  I watched Sportsnet 4K all day and it played perfectly!  No problems since it was replaced (blurry, skipping, audio loss etc.)  I was talking to someone at the call center on Tuesday and asked to go back to the old Nextbox and modem and he basically said that EVERYONE will have to switch to this new ignite stuff eventually.  They are not offering the Nextbox or modem anymore on their website.  It's been a rough week, now its time to actually enjoy this new stuff.

its bandwidth or server issue at Rogers side...

looks like their backend system can’t handle the load.

Tonight's game has been perfect so far, good picture and no audio drops or random re-winds on Sportsnet 1 4K and Sportsnet 4K. In my case, it was a defective box (Xi6-A) that caused the original problems. Hopefully the Raptors can close it out tonight! Oracle Arena doesn't have 4K cameras apparently 😞

SN's TV schedule doesn't show the game as 4K.  The next SN4K event is the Jays next home game (where they have 4K cameras) on June 17th.

correct... I was switching between two SN 4K channels back to back...

As I recall freezing is mostly on SN

problem is we need popular game like Raptors on TSN to compare...

This is happening now in the last week or so on channel 507 4k sportnet ontario. All other 4k channels are fine. It was happening during mlb playoffs the last few nights and the first nhl game of the year tonight. Not good at all please fix.

I have tried to watch NHL hockey on the 4K channel a few times now, and always end up going back to the HD channel, due to many glitches/stuttering on the channel.  Although the picture was better, it was not worth watching it with it stuttering ...

I've never had this problem until recently and it's only sportsnet 4k ontario channel 507. I also had to switch to regular HD for mlb playoffs last night. Something is wrong with their 4k feed on that channel. It's a new development because I've had ignite for almost 2 years without issue with any of the 4k channels until now
