How do you get rid of the gigantic black info bar?

every time i use the pause or play button ect on live tv, the bottom 1/4 of the screen is blacked out with the gigantic info bar for about 10 seconds. On the older boxes you could make this transparent, Seems on the nextbox, options are extremley limited. Does anyone know if there is a setting for this?

The display is not user customizable.

Have you tried hitting the "Exit" button?

Thanks, I was afraid of getting this answer, I am aware of using the exit but I was hoping to eliminate it all together. thank you for your help. Not too many options (sleep timer etc) available on these new nextboxes. I defiatley liked the older boxes a lot more.

You couldn't adjust the display of the progress bar on the SARA guide either....at least I can't find the setting on my 8300 as I type this.....

The major difference between the Nextbox and the 8300 is that the 8300's display stays on the screen for a much shorter time than the NB, plus it disappears altogether when you hit pause. The NB one stays on screen all the time unless you use exit. I much prefer the 8300 implementation.

Re: How do you get rid of the Recordings Status Bar?

Very annoying indeed!  One of a slew of problems that should never have left the lab.

Why would anyone ever want the info bar to remain on after hitting play?  Bad design.

Would love to hear that it'll be fixed in the next update.

While it would be nice, not overly likely Smiley Sad

It has been that way since the beginning on all the boxes both Rogers software and the mfg software.

Yeah it is quite annoying. I always press exit after to make the large info bar go away.

yes it is pathetic that you have to put up with this bar and when you pause TV also
