Yahoo is full of it. Yes Yahoo webmail is free, but this is Rogers webmail that happens to be resourced by Yahoo. I am PAYING good money for Rogers service, including an email service. Rogers moderators here need to escalate this ASAP and these ads off the service. If that can't happen, Rogers needs to reduce my monthly charge and I will drop their email.
I too am frustrated with Rogers Corporation as a whole. We've had Rogers for nearly 40 years. The banner ad on my Rogers Mail page (with Yahoo engine, yehaa) is irritating. I guess we could start using the pre-installed mail program but, when we're away from home pc's, it's back to looking at something we don't pay for. We pay for the full Rogers Service (bundle) at $450/mos. and incl. 4 wireless cells. We don't pay for Yahoo ads on my Rogers Mail plus, we dont even get paid to advertise Yahoo on our Rogers mail accounts. We don't have Yahoo mail accounts either. So I'm back at the #1 rule of being a customer - CAVEAT EMPTOR (Buyer Beware).
Rogers has the wrong people in the wrong positions in corporate offices. Like most corporate companies, they have you in a corner. However, you can usually always go UP! The consumers has an option, stay or leave.
We're at our limit with Rogers and will take our business elsewhere, even if it means paying for 4 seperate 'online' bills, just to have the service we pay for. It's time to search for better companies and I'd rather pay a few dollars more for the service I am happy with.
Very unsatisfied customer.
>>RB0001: Rogers needs to act on this immediately. Some of the ads are very inappropriate and I don't want them on my screen where children could see them. I pay close to $100/month for Rogers internet service and at that rate there should be NO ads unless I opt-in."
I fjully agree wth RB001 !! These Rogers in-your-face ads are just normal run-of-the-mill ads, but the tend to be rather vulgar low-end offensive Rent-a- . kind of ads!! For sure, if I am forced to ingest this kind of garbage on a daily basis just to receive my email, I'm outta here! It's not worth it to have to start my day this way, feeling that I have just finished logging onto a porno site.
I agree whole-heartedly. Yahoo may advertise, but Rogers chooses to use them - and I pay a lot of money for our services. Grrr.
This is SOOO funny!! The dull-witts at Rogers are now posting ads promoting their most credible and threatening competitor!! The most recent Rogers' in-yer-face-spam, was promoting a VERY credible Rogers option in these here parts: TekSavy, with 3X the bandwidth at a fraction of the price while maintaining the same speed! This is the most recent spam I've received from Rogers:
"TekSavy Are you paying too much for Internet
Learn how you can get the Internet plan that's right for you!"
With all of the favourable rave reviews I have seen for TekSavy; and now, with TekSavy even being endorsed by Rogers as a better option, it is time to make the switch which I've been considering for a while. If Rogers endorses TekSavy as a better option, then who I am to disagree.
Notwithstanding, this entire Rogers agenda of irretrievably alienating customers by spamming them beyond tolerance, has to have been crafted by a Rogers employee who is on his way out, and wants to inflict as much damage on Rogers before he leaves!!
Hilarious! Now maybe they'll do something about the ads.
If "I want a boyfriend" isn't offensive to Rogers brass, TekSavvy surely will be ...
Never heard so much as a single negative review of TekSavy!!
